What is going on with this country??? No way in heck should the people of this country idolize a freakin politician!!! This guy has done nothing to warrent any of this hysteria about him. I could understand if it were Collin Powell or Martin Luther King..But this guy has done NOTHING!!! and kids are wearing T-shirts with his picture?? Are we that lost as a nation??? I'm more afraid of what he is going to do then what he hasn't done!!!!

I'm afraid we are a nation in a down spiral...the majority have become selfish and lazy and the Government plays right into their hand.

Obama will be the death of America as we know it, hang on to your a$$es people.

Come on guys you all have to know by now that huntndude, Zigga, piper are all just PETA members and donors that just come here to stir the pot. I wish at times there was an ignore all posts by certain individuals cause it is a mute point to argue with a vegie.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-18-08 AT 09:00AM (MST)[p]Yes most PETA members run cattle and have points in 7 states for hunt drawings.

Just because some of you are simple don't figure everyone else is, maybe our lives involve more than sitting on the porch in wife beater shirts with our shotgun munching pork rinds and drinking beer.

Csimplton, now we're going to have another civil war? boy that would be a hoot huh? one can always hope. will you start by race and them move to those with an IQ over 70? if you're colored or can think for yourself you're a threat to Bubba's everywhere, we can't have that. or are you going to be attacked first and have to defend yourself from the blacks, hispanics and liberals? geez this is scary stuff I guess I better stock up on shells and pick a side, or do I even have a choice? being half indian maybe I'm lumped in with the colored folk and my fate is sealed? man ain't that a dilly of a pickle.

Well Hdude if you are running cattle then you have the largest effect on global warming. Cattle produce more methane gas and emits more green house gases than the truck I drive. And you lecture us on our carbon footprint. Get Real!!!!

When did I lecture anyone on carbon anything? I have said from the start there MIGHT be something to the man made global warming but we don't know YET. there is no doubt global warming is real the only question is are we to blame, I don't know and while you may beg to differ you don't either.

Yes I run cattle, not as many as I used to but I's argue how the methane they produce makes any difference, city sewers produce far more so lets talk about human overpopulation if that's our concern. the 35,000 gallons of deisel I burn each year in equipment and my mint still would have more effect by far would be my guess.

Wow, guess what guys.. Next Attorney General, looks like is gonna be a Black Man.. Boy im sure glad Obama is fair and doesnt hate whites like his book he wrote says, and he is being fair and not bias and picking people by abilities and not Race........... What a fricking Joke.... He is a liberal, socialist, racist ( dont believe read the Odacity of Hope) and a glorified idiot whom has achieved nothing, and the idiots in here like huntingdude really thinks he is a good choice.. good grief.. " Clarence Thomas" Condolece Rice...... Senator Lott, now those are good choices if you want to be proud a black person has made it to white house.....

i have never mentioned race EVER but you do we are Americans its just some Americans are TRADERS.
you are giving our nation away. some folks are white, black, red or yellow that makes no difference to me.
but if you try to take away any of my inaliable rights you will have a fight on your hands.
if you will take the constitution as something you must change you will be on the other side of the battlefield.
if you feel anyone will really gain by throwing god out of our nation i got a problem with you too.
if you think you can take something given to a man and woman by god and give it to a man and a man or a woman and woman you are wrong.
if you think electing the most anti American president, vice president, speaker of the house and the list go's on and on is helping this country out you are blind.

Everyone on Wall Street is a trader, lezbians are fur traders, what's wrong with traders it's part of capitolism?

Who is throwing out the constitution? who is throwing god in the street? do you even know what or who it is you're scared to death of? take a pill.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-19-08 AT 05:44AM (MST)[p] as I've said repeatedly you don't even have a clue what your guy's record is, what he has fought and voted for. who wrote the Clinton gun ban? what party take the separation of church and state to mean you can't display the word Christmas in public
but you have proven on this site, its OK to display you s**k d**ks.
liberals will be the end of this nation so get ready cuz i will not give her up without a fight.

I sure don't know how you sleep at night sorry but all these things that are going on around in your head about the death of Christmas, losing all your guns and civil wars are not going to happen, I would suggest taking a trip out of the country and enjoy the world, things change and if you just bunker up your going to be really unhappy for a long time

When you said you were worried about the dems banning guns while I think that's a long ways off if they ever do it I'll admit it's a valid argument. now that you're crying the democrat Grinch is going to steal Christmas you come across as a total paranoid idiot. like piper says bunker up it's going to be a long 4 years for you, be afraid, be very afraid.

The country has been in the bottom of the chitter for the past 8 years and is about to get flushed. Most of the blame for the dem's gaining power goes directly to Bush and his failed war and all of it's fallout. Both sides suck and there's plenty of blame to go around...

Failed war? The Iraq's have had there first election in how many years? America has been attacked how many times since 9/11 ? Uh lets see,, can you say none! but I suppouse thats just a coincedance... ( I do agree, plenty of blame on both ends though)

Ditto what bwnco said.
How about the Iraq war is won. Bush handed Obama a big fat W in Iraq. I would not say it is a failed war.
I would also dare you to say that Iraq was a failed war to the face of a man that has fought and bled in Iraq. You peace hippies disgust me.

do you see the ten commandments posted in public any more? how many places call dec 25th the holidays and don't dare say its Christmas. who started that I'll guarantee ya it wasn't a conservative.
they even moved a place with the commandments here in Casper triple bb..
the Iraq war is a success, is Hussein running things there?
no you dumb a$$e$ put him in here.
we stood buy with clinton we should not stand by for the ban this time. what would it take to make the people in the US wake up. are you waiting for the last gun ban or do you grab the bull by the horn on the first one?
mistakes are better headed off at the start of the problem than waiting tell the whole vehicle breaks down.

Its nice to look for whatever good you can in something, but the Iraq war is still an expensive adventure that has cost a lot of people their lives and has done a lot of structural damage to this country, Im guessing that this country is beginning to go on a long decline in respect to the rest of the world and mistakes that the Bush administration are a major factor in that, so bunker down boys its gonna be a long ride

If Iraq was the way to fix the middle east and the terrorist like claimed why is the forgotten war in Afghanistan and Pakistan going like crap? you guys are incredible, no doubt you think Saddam had something to do with 9/11. Iraq was a mistake this is history get over it, in 2 months Bush steps out and the new president will end it as fast as it can be because that's what he was elected to do.

I can't beleive we still have to talk about this. you love Iraq so much and you're so proud of it so pack your bags and catch a plane, you don't seem happy with the way things are going around here as of late. off you go.

Iraq is a won war and you and your kind are ready to wave the white flag.
did you hear the bin lodans right hand mans speech today you are giving them a win. how about the missile attack in pakistan today? killing one of their top dogs.
how many foreign terrorists were killed in Iraq? would you rather have killed them here.
you ya hoos are brain dead.
what did all the soldiers in Iraq die for so you can vote in a surrender. I'm surprised you don't speak french. socialist wimps.

so if the war has already been won how can the victors raise a white flag? do you think about what you write? the war was won years ago, shall we occupy Iraq forever? its gone on a lot longer than WW2, when I listen to this stuff it makes me so happy that the more intelligent Americans have finally won

do they have a democratic government?
all they are lacking is security forces that are being trained right now.
any job worth starting is worth finishing stay tell they are on their own two feet and we will have a accomplishment worth the lives lost.
if we don't and they fail the lives will have been in vain.

LOL piper you must have flunked history.

Iraq is a long way from stability. Stability can't be granted in 5 or six years, it will take a generation or more. Most can't read or write, they are extremely poor, and completely backwards to western ways of thinking. Whether we continue aid or not is not the point I am trying to make. I am trying to say that the war is not won, not even close to won. Before things change in Iraq, Afganistan, Somalia, or any other third world nation; education must become a priortity. Sanitation levels must be improved. Until we accomplish these things victory is years away.

>LOL piper you must have flunked
>history.

Boy you got that right! We're still in Germany, So Korea, Japan, and everywhere else. 139 different military bases around the world. You could call it Empire.

Everyone needs to read the book, "The End Of America"

and get a grip on what they're doing on both sides of the aisle to destroy America.

the end of America! I can already tell you this is the beginning of the end of being the dominant superpower, Its not hard to see and its got a lot to do with the economy, we have squandered our wealth, a lot of things are coming to a head, our military spending, things like a trillion or two on the Iraq adventure, baby boomers retiring and the health care mess our heavy energy use and a polarized population, Iraq is no more than a sad footnote in our history, the worlds much larger and more complicated than most of you believe, you can laugh, giggle and make fun of Al Gore all you want, but that issue could be a world changer, there are certan trends that come out of the circumstances people find themselfs in and thats the driving force behind change, in fact a small example of that would be our recent election

all you guys love the word change.
none of you can tell us what the change will be.
the only change i see we get from the dems is whats left of our pay checks.

I don't disagree with what your saying piper, but read the book. Its a little different than you would expect.

, Im
>guessing that this country is
>beginning to go on a

Ya, that is why so many people are willing to risk death by when trying to immigrate here. Beacause its on a decline with the rest of the world. People are swarming to immigrate to Iran, France, Brazil, Australia, Serbia, Somalia, Mexico.. yep, we are a crap country... for sure..

Huntindick or dude i mean,, dang it. that always slips out..

We been attack on our home soil how many times since we took up the war in Iraq and Afghanistan? So your defination of going like crap would be uuuuuuuuu??? what in gods name do you use as a measuring stick? That 2 ##### whold countrys are not totally change in a few years. Fact that things dont happen over nite... I don't see anyone in here saying they LOVE IRAQ, but yes tons of us are plenty proud of what our men and women have done over there.. Something you wouldnt have the spine to do. You would have been one of the residents watching all the jews being hauled away going.. "well there not after me" I see nothing wrong......

bwnco - boy you are on a roll, Limbaughs program must have just gotten over and your fired up, the funny thing is France, Brazil and Australia have lots of people trying to immigrate in,probably even Serbia and Mexico have some inward immigration It sounds like the new politics that have emerged in this country are gonna make you mighty miserable for a long time

Does the fact the man just elected commander in chief said he'll end the mistake of war in Iraq as quick as possibe and dedicate more resources to Afghanistan even register with you guys? maybe he's been elected to do the right thing and YOU are wrong?

Lets just put it this way, YOU LOST, this is the way it's going to be and it's about time. this is what I love about this country, when we screw up we get the chance to fix it. Obama may be a screw up but on issues like this we needed him now, if he's a mistake we can fix that too.

Why we would want to argue with a "Know it all" welfare recepient is beyond me. Maybe, because when your on the gravy train you know how the Gov't programs can benefit you.

It sounds like
>the new politics that have
>emerged in this country are
>gonna make you mighty miserable
>for a long time

Not miserable at all! I got dumbass liberals like you, saying the most dumbass things that it makes me laugh everymorning.
Yes, piper of course there are some people moving to other countries other then the USA. But USA is the country everyone talks about comeing to, because it still is the land of oppourtunity somehow, even with dumb liberals like yourself wanting to spread the wealth around to all the lazy SOB's whom want to sit on there butts and let the rest of us work. All though it is getting harder with idiots like yourself wanting the gov't to be more and more involved in our life, when we all know gov't can screw up everything it touches. Glad you listen to Rush.. maybe you will learn something..

You really have a problem with ag don't you? less than 1% of my gross comes from my FTF payment and if you figure the customers who I can't deal with because of government restrictions that petty amount doesn't even begin to cover my losses.

Ag in nearly every country recieves far more subsidy than American producers do, keep that in mind as you sit around stuffing your chubby face full of food this Thanksgiving.

By the way I'll bet you I paid a lot more taxes than you did, way way over what my FTF payment was so I'm the one subsidizing you in the end. what a goober.

If the subsidies to the cattle industry were removed hamburger would be $30 a pound, a steak probably $90 a pound. We use half our corn crop feeding animals so we can eat them and so much water its absolutely crazy, I'll try to get that figure in the next couple days. But if the Ogallala aquifier goes dry the midwest will be a dust bowl....then what?? I say cut off the money and let them compete, just like everyone else. Farming and ranching is no damn different than building a car. If you can't make money without a handout then find something else to do.

Very ignorant and misinformed take on the issue but I'll play.

Where do you find a subsidy to the cattle industry? under what program? what are the subsidies to our competition in other nations? what are our domestic import tariffs and what are the import tariffs on our beef exported to other nations?

Why do other nations give huge subsidies? two reasons, one it keeps the money at home, two they can recall being hungry.

American ag is very competitive, let us fail and see if the petty subsidies weren't a great investment for you. I'm always amazed at how stupid some people can be, they cry when ag makes money and they cry if ag needs help to survive. the poor producers get weeded out in ag fast, even the good ones have a hard time hanging on much of the time it's a tough business and if you had a clue you wouldn't need this explained to you. do your homework and get back to me on how ag is getting rich off the tax payer, and check out grain and cattle prices while you're at it, about the cost of production today maybe even below cost.

well jee, wouldn't you call the 1950's rate a rancher pays to run his cow on public land a subsidy?? and I ain't crying about what they make one way or the other, they can offset or hedge in the commodities markets to maintain a steady price and profit, thats what those markets are for if your smart enough to use em. I'm just sick of the corporate welfare for everything. Its unconstitutional.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-21-08 AT 09:20PM (MST)[p] oh my god I'm putting up for huntin dude.
we sold calves yesterday down 10 cents from the day before down 50 cents from last year.
ranching is a vary hard way to make a buck.
that doesn't sound like much but at 600 lbs its 60 bucks x 100 hits hard in the pocket book.
the tax breaks for the ranch is good generally with fuel tractor well repairs feed and the like taxes are greatly reduced on the little income you get.
we don't have any federal leases just private land leases.
you could get the same tax breaks by running a day care in your home. taxes off licence plates food gas interest on the truck home repair and toys.
the tools are different but the tax breaks are the same.
the daycare gets payed the same every day the ranchers pay bounces all over depending on what day he takes his goods to the sale.
sorry guys but this ain't the 2a its a hard way to make a living. ranchers paycheck vary every year at least you guys know how much you will make next year.

I do watch and use the commodity markets, I forward sold most of my SWW in March for $9.75, and some of my '09 crop for $9.00 and today it's about $5.00

That's all well and good but we're headed back into a cycle where maybe $5.00 will be as high as it gets, and that's about break even. the other problem is in the commodity market you deliver the goods or pay the difference between current market and your contract if you're on the down side. so if you contract and have a crop failure you not only lose your butt the crop but you might be paying your way out of a contract, not easy when your margins are slim to none.

The bottom line is ag isn't easy and the weak don't last, you do have the most efficient growers feeding you and you better make sure they stay in business no matter what it takes. if you think oil was expensive wait until you're trying to buy food in a world market and supply is low and demand is high.

maybe its a hard way to make a living but I think its a good way. It does bother me that AUMs are stuck at 1950 levels, what is it a dollar and thirty one cents a month for either a cow and calf, seven sheep or a horse? I know some of those ranchers that get that deal and their not hurting for money, I pay 180.oo$ a ton for hay so maybe Im jealous. Dude is right, food is a very important commodity for any country. Americans do a good job of producing it, and its worth having the government do things that help keep our food supply running smoothly

then when the drought hits hail storms and spring snow storms the commodities you can have big swings in income.
we tried sheep and had a spring storm kill almost all the lambs
and one of the local ranchers too he got lost in a white out and froze.
i don't envy the ranching as a way to get rich but it sure is a nice quality of life.
i never complain about the help ranchers get because we get that national profit in the form of affordable food.
i still support the 2a in its entirety will not give in on that one but folks that attack ranching are wrong too.

I don't agree with a lot of what huntindude says; however, attacking his character and livelihood (sp?) are completely out of bounds. I voted for McCain, he voted for Obama. That fact right there is what makes the United States the great country that we are, and the superpower that I hope we remain. On the issue of farming and ranching, saying that we are selfish money grubbing, government sucking, welfare recipients is ridiculous. I know the Ogala water levels are dropping. That however is not because of farmers and ranchers like Huntindude or myself. Most of that has a lot to do with the feed lots, dairys, and huge amounts of irrigated land as is the case in the Southwestern United States. I think a way to avoid this is to go to a more organic set up. I think farmers and ranchers need to start leaning towards grass fed beef. Not only is this form of ranching cheaper to maintain, it takes a whole lot less input. I am not sure how to resolve the issue of water in the Southwest, but I believe that this would be a good start.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-08 AT 03:45PM (MST)[p]LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-08 AT 03:44?PM (MST)

I am not attacking dude and what he does for a living. All I am saying is we have to quit bailing out and subsiding everything and everyone. You can't tell me that they don't give money to farmers, they don't give away money to bankers, the don't help the illegal alien criminals at the local emergency room, they don't give food stamps and wick aid to single women that can't keep their legs closed and pop out babies like your local factory, they don't give a monthly handout to old retired people, they don't pay for their drugs, they don't pay for their medical, they are going to bail out people that could never pay their home loans to start with, etc etc etc add nauseum!! Where in the world are we going to come up with $70 trillion dollars in the next 20 yrs for ss and medicaid alone? Nobody wants to buy our debt anymore so what are we going to do? Just print the money like there is no tomorrow? Can you imagine the inflation that will cause?

Now Obama wants to "We'll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels," Obama said. He also made a commitment to fuel-efficient cars and alternative energy technologies "that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years ahead."

Its just more bailouts and subsides, where is he going to get all the money for this? Besides, its the very same thing Japan tried and their economy has been stagnant for over 10 yrs.

I think I am off the subject of this whole thread which was Obama worship so quiet bluntly, this guy isn't going to change a damn thing. Just watch wait and see.

Something for you guys who think ag is on welfare, this is the breakdown on the 2008 farm bill.

Nutrition ( food stamps ) 66%

Commidities ( subsidies ) 14%

Crop Isurance 8%

Disastier 1%

Conservation ( CRP mostly ) 9%

Other 3%

So 2/3 of the farm bill goes to welfare food programs and a good share of the rest is eaten up by administrative cost so actual payments to producers amounts to little, my payment is about .06% of my gross.

Yes a real farm welfare state we live in, keep in mind all our competition is highly subsidized even Canada gets WAY more than we do. some of you listen to Rush way too much, everytime he gets on his anti ag hate your local farmer crap I want to thump his fat face.

Like I just got my gold Obama coin and like my new collectors plate and my T-shirt! He is like for change! He has done nothing great people! I just hope I get my free stuff!

Dude, this is goober. If you pay more income tax than I do, why do you still gladly recieve that welfare check from the trough? Hell, if you pay more than me, then why not gladly volunteer to pay, say, 60% instead of nearly 50%?? Hey, did you see that survey where certain Americans in a certain city now rank Osama as the second greatest president ever. Only JFK surpasses him. Hell, how stupid are we? The guy hasn't been in the whitehouse yet and this guy is the second coming of Christ.. I will check snoopes to see if its true. Supposedly, it came from the guys who interviewed some blacks in NY that voted for Osama because they thought his running mate Palin was an excellent choice!!

If you cut the IRS a six figure check and then the FSA wanted to give you 8 grand back you'd tell them to keep it? I'll bet you would just like I did.

Who knows what kind of president Obama will be, so far Wall Street likes him so he hasn't hurt anything so far. the only thing for sure is he is the president and Bush set the bar low enough just mediocre will be a huge success.

I'll bet 202 does.

So it's ok for kids to have rock star convicts on their shirts but not their president? so what, like all presidents they'll hate him soon enough and then you can all be happy.
