Opening day turned out better than expected, set blinds in a down pour yesterday and wasn't to jacked to get out in the rain and cold this am. Got out to the blind at 530 and stars were out and no wind. Turned into a great morning, lots of gobbles and action all around me. Not much other than hens an Jake's passed the decoys up until about 930 when two long beards snuck in and put on a show. Had them at 12 to 15 yards but no shot until one walked away to 19 yards and cleared his buddy. One well placed arrow from the hoyt ended his day pretty fast. Always a bonus to get a nice one down first morning, now I'm looking for one with a huge triple beard for the next couple trips??
And he even had a double beard???
Anybody else get out and chase those gobbles this morning???
