OTC Bear Question

Is there a way to find the past seasons closure dates for bear zones? I am planning a hunt this fall and before I pick a date would like to know when the quotas have been met in past years. I looked on the NMDGF website but can only find info for 2023.

Not that I'm aware, NMDGF emails the closures for zones. Shoot me a PM, I try to save emails and could look back and see if I can find some info for you. In general, I'm not aware of any seasons that close during the archery season, but there are a few that close fairly quickly after rifle/any weapon seasons begin.

I have to think if you contact NMDGF Bear/Lion biologist they will have the records even if it's not posted.

I've emailed NM and they told me when the quota was filled for the previous season.

I also try to save the harvest update sheet at the end of every year.
