Pine creek archery elk

The wife is going to archery elk hunt this year for the first time! She is a trooper and is in great shape, she took a bull moose last year, and also helped me pack out a 6x6 on a permit hunt.
I am seriously considering the Pine creek unit, I have done some research and like what I see so far, does anyone have any advice that might help us get started, what to expect for weather, should we look low or high, crowds etc. I have hunted in Northside, Beuelah, Silvies and Malhuer river, but its time for a change.

hey finn;
Don't know much about Pine Crk elk, but applied for deer with some buddies. If we happen to draw, we are going to do and archery elk/deer scouting trip before the deer hunt and pick the brain of a friend up there.
