Pine valley mtn itself is in great condition
It’s the lower country where the deer migrate after the archery and start of the muzzleloader season.
We have gotten a few little isolated storms over the past couple of weeks but it’s not looking to good for future storms and the temps are on the rise 110 this coming weekend

Mountain will be in rough shape if rain don't come soon. Haven't received any measurable rainfall in several months now. Hot, windy spring and now brutal summer. Southwest Utah is in rough shape with no rain in the near forecast.

Took this picture on the Zion unit this past weekend. Grass is over 3 ft in places. But, without more precipitation it could get ugly

Kind of in the same boat. Started out super green with decent winter moisture. However seen very little precipitation since.
However the bulls and antelope are looking good for those who have tags!
Supposed to be 108+ the next few days then possible monsoon moisture end of the week ????

Nothing is going to help the Southwest Desert until they eradicate the horses.

Not many tags given out this year. I’d hunt
We have been getting monsoon showers every afternoon for the past 3-4 weeks now.
Bucks I’ve seen are looking good so far. Should be a great fall

I talked to my hunting partner (son) and we decided we’re hunting. Will be a good time no matter what ??

I am looking forward to my muzzleloader Southwest Desert general deer hunt. Only 65 tags makes it almost like a limited entry hunt with no expectations or self induced pressure.... If nothing else, it will be relaxing and a lot better than work!

Just got back from scouting Pine valley. First day I was pretty discouraged. Did not see one buck. Finally got into a handful on the next day. Nothing majorly impressive, but it lifted my spirits and gave me some hope.

ElmerFud there Some great deer on the unit. Not big numbers of deer but with some effort one can turn up a handful of good bucks.
