Prineville reservoir

Never seen the reservoir until today. Past pictures showed it very low. But with all this weather it’s pretty full.
Made the mistake of letting the wife talk me into taking the dirt road out. What a muddy snotty mess. Nothing like doing a 10 point turn on a slimy 2 track. To get turned around.

It's clear full, so is Ochoco. last year not much before this date it was empty, the lowest since it was completed in 1958.

Good fishing I guess, I don't fish. but I have irrigation rights out of it so that's why I'm liking it being full.

I have never seen it that full either. I hunt deer just a few miles away near Post. You can see the reservoir from high points on the property. I hope that is good for the deer hunting this year.

We had an ideal winter and early spring. good snow up high and very little below 4000 feet. got another 9" on top just in the last few days.

That's good for the game, which would be great for hunting except for one problem, the deer are nearly extinct.

Yes, there are very few deer. ODFW has cut back the LOP tags substantially. I may not even get a tag and I am the only hunter on the property.
