A group of four of us applied for a Archery Mule Deer hunt in SE Co. I recently found out I was the only one to obtain a tag. After calling Colorado I was told I missed a number in the group ID number box. I was the Group leader and We used my CID # like in colorado's rules. It is a nine digit #, well I had eight. I thought electronically filing the application should prevent any problems like these. I was also told by co's staff you can use any combination of #'s for the group ID. Well the regulation book says to use the CID. If anyone applied on line this year you may have experienced the same problems as us. It took about 4-5 times for each of us to apply. Each time we attempted to pay by visa all our information was lost and we would have to reenter all the information again. I'm sure one of those attempts I had the 9 # CID correct. I'm extermely disapointed in colorados system this year. I have lost both of my points. My only option is to either let CO keep my money and get my points back or file for a refund and lose my points. I was told that the error was on my end and there is nothing they can do to help. Why would the regulations require a CID # but allow any other # to be used. If I'd have applied on paper I would have been OK there are 9 spaces on the application I'm sure I could have gotten that right. Maybe Colorado will change there program and send an error if you don't have enough #'s prior to allowing the application to be submitted.
Maybe someone will learn from my mistake. Double check before you submit even the 5th time. I think I'll apply by paper next year. This year may have cost me the price of a tag to regain my points. I'm disheartened. I told the group the could go walk with me while I hunted, they didn't bite.
