remington model 7 / ruger youth model

I have a grandson that will be able to hunt this fall. I am looking at a youth rifle. Any suggestion would be helpful.
I like the remington model 7 or the ruger youth model. I also like the remington 600, 660, but for the price you can almost buy new.
This would be in the 243 calibur.

Crow, I've got a Model 7 in 7/08 and it shoots great. I would think that a .243 would be very accurate outta this rifle. It's a great rifle for youngsters or ladies. Good luck with your decision. :7

I have both. The Remington Model 7 in 7-08, and the Ruger Compact in .308. Both are excellent rifles. Accurate and well made. I don't think you would go wrong with either choice. Both of mine have Leupold Compact 3x9's on them.
