I am new to Monster Muleys. I have enjoyed the pictures and stories. I have one so here goes.
Way back in 1968, when I was in high school, I went deer hunting after school one day. I was by myself. I was hunting along the west bench, west of Gunnison, Utah. I was hunting along the state canal when I jumped this buck. I knew that this buck was a keeper. The number of points, the width, the height. This old boy had it all. The buck jumped out of the sage brush that was along the canal. He was on a dead run when I shot him. I was using my new Rem. 700.-7MM mag topped with my 4 power Redfield Widefield. WEll he had to out there 400 or 500 yards running full blast. One shot later and he was down and out. When I got up to him I couldn't believe my eyes. What a magnificent mule deer buck. Te rack was one of a kind. The height, the width, the mass. I couldn't believe my luck. A huge 6 point with eye guards. This is the picture of him.
6 pts and eye guards. Height is 16", width is 14". It really is a rack with character. Had the make the story interesting didn't I? Also maybe a little foggy about the shot. It was a long time ago, LOL. Probably closer to 200 yards standing! By the way post some pictures of your special bucks. I would like to see them. P.S. Pro knows this area. Its some of his old stomping grounds. Rod (RodsRoost)
Also another one that I shot
