In the last week I have heard from more than one person that a bunch of people are going to boycott Colorado hunting because of the new gun laws. And one person even said some outdoor shows wouldn't be putting any more Colorado hunts on there because of the new gun laws. Anybody else hearing this? If this is the case maybe I will be lucky in the draw this year.

If the out of state hunters boycott it won't be to support Colorado, they hate the state and are real bitter because we charge them more to hunt than a resident and hold their money for two months. A boycott means they don't understand or won't read the new laws.

Really? What state doesn't do this? Colorado is the cheapest or top two cheapest for a NR to hunt elk in...

hold their money for
>two months.
Again, how does this really affect anyone? if you can't afford to take the money out of your checking account for 2 months than you shouldn't be applying cause you can't afford the tag anyway.

As far as the original question, yes there are hunters boycotting CO due to the gun laws, no one is sure what the percentage is yet though. Probably won't know the true effect until early next year after all the license sales data is compiled and distributed.

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

+1! Lol

I'm so pissed at CO about the high capacity magazine ban, that I'm going to bring my high capacity single shot when I draw. That'll show 'em!!!

it is stupid i agree im from colorado, but hey if everyone boycotts guess i might have a better chance at my buck tags HA HOOOOO MAN

Its true. Me and my brother are not planning to hunt in Colorado anytime soon. I was a resident until this year and I withdrew my applications this week. Loss of $900 for the state. I dont plan to support a state that approves of legalized dope, banning spring bear hunts, anti-trapping, pro-gun control, and will soon legalize gay rights. Why would I want to hunt in a state that only allows 5-9 days of biggame hunting, when in other states I can hunt 5-9 weeks. Secondly, once the new landowner voucher program is approved next year getting everything but otc elk tags will be tougher to draw. And the short fall of surplus tags this year will be taken away in 2014. I feel for the good individuals of the state that lose their rights to a group of money driven lobbyist. I hope you guys can change the direction in the next election.

Leonard I totaly agree with you you hit the nail right on the head with all your comments. If I wasn't a resident I would do the same I plan on hunting because in the near future we may not be able to. I can't beleive the amount of good people that don't even vote shame on them. We need to vote these clowns out of office including the Whitehouse.
