Folks that live in the Reno area see that every day.
It's even a much more spectacular view from just up over the rise a bit Including Slide mountain and the rest of the Carson Range to the north all the way over to Verdi.
And there's Peavine mountain, the eastern edge of the Sierra?s, the Peterson?s and we can even see the tippy top of Fort Sage.
And that's just looking west.
 
Had a few flurries the last couple of days and I heard chain controls were up on Donner for a short period of time. We had a skiff of snow above 6000 feet that didn't last long.
 
Had a friend on Wednesday that sent me pictures of Austin. Looked like early November. A good thick 3 inches of snow.

This pattern is supposed to last through Memorial Day.
