Signs Of Rut/171

Has the rut started in Colorado Unit 171? I have a tag for the season starting 1 OCT. Hope things are cooking by then. Any hints on how to hunt them during the rut? I am considering using a treee stand, am I correct in doing this and waiting for a bull to move by me OR should I be moving looking for them as they might be paired up with a cow??? Thanks Ray

If your talking about moose? You will not stand much of a chance hunting from a tree stand.Hiking and calling ,covering alot of ground wll be your best bet.

The elk rut is hot and heavy now.
The moose are starting to rut some as of this week.Just the small bulls chasing the cows right now.
Good luck with the moose you'll have a lot of deer hunters up there too.

Anybody see anything the last few days?? Tomorrow I leave to head up there. The game warden said there was a bit of snow and more was predicted for last night. Wonder if and how this will affect the rut?? I'm heading up by myself but am cautious, possibly someone will join me the middle of the week. My truck is almost packed and I'm anxious!!! Thanks Ray
