I'm curious to know how this solar eclipse on Saturday morning is going to affect the elk behavior and the hunt for the 1st season opening day. Any guesses?
 
It won't. It's during the day time and only last a few minutes. Clouds cover the sun longer. The birds go quiet. The traffic on the highways is the biggest downside.
 
We got a buck during an eclipse 5 or 6 years ago. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not but we were thinking the low light had something to do with him feeding in the middle of the day.

I’m right in the anus of the anular eclipse. Last time we had one it was kinda like a very dense cloud. But I saw a couple of owls during the day which I considered unusual.

I suppose it might get things off their beds to stretch their legs.
