What kind of hike is it to get to Soldier Lake? Day hike or Overnighter? Is the water drinkable or do I need to filter it?

Depends on which way you get into it. All water in the Ruby's need a filter. There is also allot of water there so bring the filter. The hike in, depending on condition and pack weight, will take about 2 hours. If you park at soldier creek you can day hike it if you want. Again, depends on your conditioning. no, not too much. Most people I've seen is less than 10 along the trail.
