Substituting Pyrodex P for RS?

In a pinch if I had to substitute pyrodex P (fffg) in place of pyrodex RS (ffg) and I reduced volume 15% is that ok? What are the expected ballistic results from a 50 cal inline muzzleloader? I am only asking if it is safe, what % reduction to use and what a guestimate is for ballistic changes.

Too many variables to give more than a ballpark answer. What gun, twist, lubed or wad or paper patched, what load, bullet size and weight, sabot or bore fit, length of barrel.

As for Pyrodex P vs RS, you've already stated you know the difference is similar to 2F against 3F. About 10% hotter, slightly faster burn curve.

In my Whites, 100 gr Pyrodex P with 300 grain bullet is perfectly safe, best performing, and most accurate.

I have 50 years experience with 80-100 gr loads of P in both sidelocks and inline. No problems yet.
