Come on, somebody has to have compared these two--are the 50's worth spending the extra couple hundred bucks for? I'm in the same dilema as you Russ, I am also considering the 15x56's.

Depends on what your intend to do with them, I have had the 10x42's the 15x56's and 8x50's I sold the 10x42's and the 15x56's I personally would go with the 10x50's and get a good spoting scope instead of the 15x56's. The 10x50's will be much brighter then the 10x42's although a little bigger.

I just bought 10x50, I had used 10x42's. The 10x50 are noticeably heavier but in low light--dusk and dawn situations the 50's really shine. I don't believe I'll backpack in with these but after work/truck glass use was my main objective.
