Scott Talbot announced his retirement as Director of the WGF. As I read it, the process for replacement is the Governor selects from three names submitted by WGF.

Yep! I had no idea he was old enough or had the service time to retire.

He's probably in his mid to late 50s then since he probably started with G&F right out of college. I was also lucky to retire back in 2002 just before I turned 55 with 30 years of service and haven't looked back. I wonder if he will get involved somewhere else or just enjoy retirement like I've been able to do.
 
Keep in mind that it is an appointed position and he retired immediately after a new governor took the reins...
