Tape over muzzle break

I was on another forum and saw a series of pics of a guy with the same rifle. It appeared he had tape over his muzzle break in some of the pics. I was curios if anyone has tried this to reduce the noise even if it does increase recoil. I have done it to keep moisture out but this just appears to be wrapped around the break.

I've done it for years and I'm sure it doesn't reduce noise or increase recoil or pressure.
I do it to keep debris and moisture out of the barrel. Sometimes I'll use a balloon and roll it on like a.. well, you know.
The time on the bench tell me there is zero effect on accuracy or POI.

CVS, Rite-aid, Walgreen has what we call finger condom's
They are for keep dirt and such off your cuts on your fingers, they work great for putting over your barrel.
You can go old school and put some black tape over it too.

I've used electrical tape and the finger covers to keep dirt/water out of my barrel. Never noticed any reduced muzzle noise tho.
