Tomorrow's Wildlife Board Work Meeting

Thanks for posting the meeting link, elkfromabove! Here's the agenda for today's work session, if anyone is interested.

The work session format allows our biologists to present data and information about a variety of topics that come up throughout the year. And, it allows the board members to have in-depth discussions on those topics. It's a way to dive deeper on many subjects.

The board will not be taking action today on any of the items listed on the agenda, but some of today's discussions may inform future proposals that go out to the public for feedback. Along those lines, the April RAC meetings start next week, and the first deadline for online feedback is tonight. You can provide feedback here and see a list of the upcoming meetings and their times and locations.

Good updates on fawn and doe survival/body fat %, fawn weights etc.- doing a little better through this winter (southern areas/Book Cliffs struggling). Let's hope we continue to get some moisture this spring and keep whacking some predators!!

Not much. They just talked about the makeup of the committee, timeline and guiding principles. The board will provide the guiding principles and the committee is expecting to finish their research and make their recommendation later this year. It will include more than just muzzleloaders. They’re looking at all technology.

Based on the comments from the board, I expect to see a little dialing back and some concessions on current technology, but not a wholesale jump to flintlock muskets and recurve bows.

I doubt it.
