transporting bear out of ontario

Going on a bear hunt end of the week in Ontario. Any tips on getting meat and hide back to utah?

We hunt over in Alberta and there you don't need to bring the meat. I would recommend taking a cooler, skinning the bear, putting the hide in the cooler, then putting the cooler in the freezer if possible.

In Alberta, you can take 2 bears and that is the only way we've found to get 2 bears in a cooler. Luckily our guide has big chest freezers that we can set our coolers in.

So are you transporting it back in your own vehicle or flying/ shipping it? Were flying in so just wondering the best way to geti it back?

We flew the first time, now we drive for convenience. I would still do as I mentioned, unless you want to freeze them and have them shipped via UPS or something.

Either way it's going to cost. That's why we started driving.
