I have been on the site for years and this is my first post. Was looking at getting a new carbon tripod. Cant decide which one, have thought about the swaro travelmodel but not sure about the head. Or the manfrotto just dont know which model. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for a lightweight tripod, also check out the Outdoorsmans Tripod. They are not carbon - they are machined aluminum - but they weigh about the same or less than most carbon models and are usually less bulky. Plus, they are designed by hunters, built by hunters, sold by hunters, and made for hunters.

With whichever way you choose, give the Outdoorsmans a call. They carry the Bogen/Manfrotto carbon tripods and, of course, the Outdoorsmans.

Also, since you are wondering about heads, even if you choose a carbon tripod, take a strong look at the Outdoorsmans Pan Head.

Good luck!

I have had mine for about a year and a half and it is great and will be using it here next month in WY again.
