Trump 2024 Let the games begin!

I’ll boil my support for Trump down as simple as I can. That should secure my position of being as erratic and irrational as Trump. Don’t expect any of you to believe me or understand my rational. In doing so, I will step away from this conversation for a few months because I can tell it’s beginning to bother me more than I want it to.

Until I was in my late twenties I lived in a an area in Canada that was populated by many a lot of refugee families primarily from Eastern Europe and Asia. Polish, Ukrainians, Hungarians, Dutch, also a large contingent of Japanese. Finally a few Jamaicans. They and their families came to Canada over a broad range of years from as far back as pre World War I thru the last of the 1960’s.

Listening to their escape stories and their personal observations of all things political in the countries they had been raised in instilled in me, a desire to keep at least one eye fixed on the political arena. I became angry will attending college in Calgary, Alberta in the mid 1960s where my professors were constantly preaching the ventures of communism and insisting on the student body attending and participate in daily anti-Vietnam War. I refused!

In the early 1970s I married an American girl who’s father fought in the 6th Army, starting in the Philippines and 4 years later ended in Japan. Later got called back to fight again in Korea. He was not bashful about personally sharing personal experiences fighting the Japanese in the jungles of the of Philippines and the communists in Korea.

After I was married, I returned to live in Calgary where was employees by Shell. I met two guys who’s families had moved from Western Europe to Jamaica in the 1600s. They were both white but married to two wonderful black Jamaican women. These two ancestral families had been wealthy bankers in the Caribbean. These two guys with their wife’s and children had fled Jamaica in the last 1960 or early 70s, with the clothes on their backs and not a penny to there name. They talked constantly of the 30 year progression of socialism and communism in Jamaica.

In the late 1960’s the Canadian government was under the control of the liberal party lead by a socialist by the name of Pierre Thoreau, the father of the current liberal Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Both are unabashed supporters of the Castro family government in present day Cuba.

After twenty eight years watching Canada move deeper and deeper into socialism and hearing the stories of many many refugees, for my entire life, when my wife wanted to return to the US, I was more than happy to leave myself. I moved here, legally, in 1975. Believing I was saving my family from the ever creeping ravages of socialism and possible communism.

Since the day I arrived I have witnessed a slower but no less determined effort by the liberal/leftists in the US to follow the Canadians and other nations like Australia and New Zealand away from free enterprise and liberty, in all its many forms.

The Republican Party has slowly but certainly, by way of constant and consistent compromise with the left, from the RINO members of the Republican Party, resulting in a government with laws, regulations and hundreds if not thousands of large and small bureaucracies, that control our lives and now even our abilities to trust our financial, medical, judicial and election systems which have been altered and compromised until tens of millions of American no longer trust anything touched by the government, be it Fed, State, or Local, right down to the level of pills for a common headache or a library book for a third grader.

Based on the personal testimonies of the people I’ve lived with and the observations I’ve made since 1975, I believe the left has pulled us to the end of the far side of the governing perspective, before it goes to socialism, followed by communism. I believe there is nothing more to give the left before we cross that mark on the spectrum.

I’ve been quite vocal in my community regarding my concerns, for 47 years. As a result I’ve been asked, by many people, both in and outside the Republican Party to run for office. I have respectfully declined because I know myself better than they know me. I have strong opinions, I can present them well enough to garner attention in meeting etc. However I have a proven weakness. I have a temper and then confronted, after a certain amount of time…. I go off and rather than make a continued fool of myself, I gather up my napkins and leave. I cannot and know I will not standup to the withering personal attacks from the Democratic personal distruction machinery and it’s political surrogates.

Prior to Trumps announcement that he was running for President, I completely ignored him. With what little I knew of him, I considered him a rich arrogant elitist. (I still do.) However, when he stated his platform and political ambitions, I was impressed…… at the very least he stated what he wanted to change, why and how he would try to do it, with confidence. At least he had the courage to say it, when every other conservative candidate couldn’t even conjure up the guts to do that much, yet they wanting my vote. My vote….. so they could politely give more concessions to the left, when there was none left to give, as far as I’m concerned.

No thank you, not from me.

I watched the Democrat machine go to work on him. He punched back, it was hugely as hell. Disgusting even. I was certain Trump would not, could not be elected.

The most conservative voices in America demanded, begged, pleaded that Trump turn down the brutal punching back. Trump’s support continued to grow. Trump’s response was always the same. “Seems to me my method of responding to the Left and the RINO is working. The more I hit back, the harder I hit back, the more support I get.” He was correct in that assessment. Millions of populists in this country are fed up. Some more than fed up.

I was in hotel a Houston, Texas the night of the 2016 election. (Side note, I think I’d even stopped in that day to say hi to ole TriState.) As my son I watched the election results come in, I watched the shock and fear fill the news rooms of the liberal media. At approximately 10:30 pm the vote tally stopped dead in its tracks. and hung where without moving for many hours. It 2 a.m. I told my son, turn this chit off, I’m going to sleep, by sun up Clinton is going to be the next President. They are out looking for votes in these last few key States.

When Trump won, as Chevy Chase said, “I couldn’t have been more surprised if I’d woke up and my face was sewn to the carpet.”

The Democrat are however not stupid and they have made damn sure that it will never happen again.

Once Trump became President I believe I had ever reason to believe he would fail to accomplish his stated campaign objectives. I based my assumption on having watched the effectiveness of the Democratic party and the ineptitude of the Republican Party, to move conservatives legislation forward. In fact, much the same as the Canadians, Australian and New Zealanders, the US Republicans have been generally moving further left, all be it at a slower pace than the Democrats, when they are in control, but left…… no less. Forced left by Republican RINOs controlling enough votes, when combined with the Democrats, to thwart all but left leaning legislation and doing nothing to hault the regulations put in place by socialist bureaucracies.

Unlike previous Republican Presidents, Trump, pushed forward his stated agenda very aggressively, firing appointees, rapid fire, one after the other, constantly calling out RINOs, replacing left leaning Judges where ever and when ever possible, changing heads of bureaucracies where possible. Rather than cave to the hydraulic pressures from not only the leftists but from so called conservative RINOs and passive Senate and House members Trump pushed and pushed and pushed then to pass his ajenda. Yes, hiring and firing over and over, as stated previously, those who continually undermined his determination to rebuild the military, energy independence, border control, international Allie’s who were raping the US tax player over United Nations and NATO expenses and stabbed us in the back while we paid their bills. He saw the dangers of the irrational and dangerous balance of foreign industrial goods, primarily from Chinese, with their manufacturing of our medicine, our technology, or transportation, even our simpliest footware. He tried to bring those industries home, for our national security and financial stability. He imposed international tariffs back to a reasonable balance. He put more American minority men and women to work than anyone in the history of the country. He tried to put the medical insurance system back under a free enterprise system, rather than grow it into an ever increasing dependence on socialized medicine and but for one Republican Senator, he would have accomplished that objective.

I could go on, but there’s no need. What I saw in Trump was a President with a dislikable personality, under unrelenting pressure from both the Republican and the Democratic Parties, with help from the Judiciary, the national, independent social media..,,….. yet accomplishing things no conservative had in recent decades with the exception of Ronald Reagan. Reagan suffered great ridicule over his 8 years from the same systems but it pails by comparison to what they have done to and are still doing to DonaldTrump.

I respect Trump for his tenacity, and his grit. He is one tough SOB. Has the attack machine taken it’s tole on him? I can’t imagine it hasn’t. Still, at this time, I see a man that has said what he wanted to do and why. I see a man that was been attacked from every angle, from his own cabinet, his own attorneys, his own advisory’s, almost the only ones who haven’t attempted to undermine him are his immediate family. (When was the last time you saw the entire family of a man of his nature, not get undermined by at least some of his own family, even the great Ronald Reagan was.).

Now, as I said before Trump has worts. We all have some. Any future President is going to have worts too, regardless if he/she is left, right, or center. If a new conservative casts his lot as a Republican President candidate, be it DeSantos or someone else, that I believe will get half as much accomplished as Trump did in four years, in spite of his worts and up against the meat grinder that he/she’ll have to go up against, I’ll vote for them but I’m not expecting that will happen.

I figure there is very little chance someone else will get more votes than Trump will get in 2024. Unless the House Committees can fix some very broken election systems, I don’t think Trump or anyone else has a snowball chance in hell to win the Presidential election in 2024. Especially after just having witnessed their failure in the 2022 election. It will take a complete collapse of the US economy for that to every happen. The consequences associated with that are too frightful for me to imagine at this time.

So, to keep from make a bigger fool of myself I stay away from political discussions and limit my posts to gay sex with SS!, snow storms with DM, dinners with Blank and pretty pictures with blue. That will be better for all of us, especially for me. Maybe I’ll I’ll conjure up the energy visit it again in six months or so.

In the mean time. I wish you all the very best and may your Christmas season be a good one.

Yes, perspective is everything. And please add boobs to your list of enjoyable topics.

Merry Christmas back at you!

Lumpy, I’d be an idiot to deny that you’ve made excellent points and you stated your position well. I bet we all have more in common than we think.
It’s unfortunate (but inevitable) that all this bickering is going on, some major decisions need to made going forward. At least it speaks to people actually caring about what’s going on or we wouldn’t be spending so much time arguing about it.
