Turkeys in Monitcello, blanding area

Was just wondering if any of you guys out there know about the turkey population down there. Been hunting there for five years, and last year was TERRIBLE. Couldn't get up on the blues side, and didn't even hear a gobble. This year, my ten year old nephew and my father drew the tag, was just wondering how things are down there. Thanks for the info.

I don't know for sure, but I have heard that it is not good again! Deep snow and generally low numbers to begin with. It may take a few years to come back?

I live in the area and have hunted it for ten years - last year was by far the worst I've ever seen it. Areas where I have always found some birds were devoid of tracks or sign. Due to deep snow, the birds died by the hundreds last winter. This winter was a little better, but I agree with what was said above - it will take 2-3 mild winters for them to rebound. Good luck.
