Two years ago today I had to put down my best buddy Sparkey. I still get teary eyed thinking about the 17.5 years I got to spend with him.

In the top picture I have just missed a coyote and Spark is watching it run. He was disappointed in me. Bottom picture cost me $275 fine for “allowing an animal under my control to harass wildlife: to wit, a Marmot.” Memo to self; don’t pictures of your dog killing a Marmot on facebook.

I had a little Jack Russel that looked a lot like him. She's been gone for 6 years and I still wish she was around.

I'm sorry Beaman. I lost a much loved German Shepherd over 20 years ago. It took me a long time to accept his untimely death and the loss of him.
I heard a comment one time- put your dog and wife in the trunk of your car. After 2 hours let them out and see which one is happy to see you. ?

Can’t think of a better “do it all” dog. We have a 9 year old female and a 1 year old male .....the female goes just about everywhere with us....rides on the tractor, deer hunting, grocery store....you name it. Great dogs. If you haven’t yet...get another one.

I was going to ask about the marmot. Damn! At least you got a cool story and pics for your $275. Spark did good - those damn whistle pigs are destructive.

My Gus got a snowshoe bunny a couple years ago. But he was a minor hunting under my small game license.:)

BTW, who (entity) wrote you the ticket?

CPW,
My Wife posted the pick on facebook. A couple of days later I was sitting on my front porch having a beer after work and heard gravel crunching in our driveway, you have to want to get to our house so I was curious who was coming up the driveway. It was the CPW. He said, “I‘ve got a problem” I’m thinking wtf can I do about your problem and not being a poacher I had a clear conscience The problem was with our dog, he waved the picture, printed off of facebook, “is this your dog?” He asked how many Spark killed, “just the one”...

I’m shocked by that. I hope he/she was at least apologetic. I hope you told Sparky he was still a good boy. (y)

Blue, Frank was an a$$hole about it. He’d even seen my post on Monstermuleys where I had pictures of Spark biting dead coyotes. He informed me it was also illegal to let my dog kill coyotes which 17 pound JRT’s doesn’t do and I would not have let him do because I wouldn’t want him to get hurt doing So.

I had to out down my Jack/Red Heeler a year ago February 19th. Casey was also 17, she would have been 18 on May 31th. It's hard--I still miss her. Smartest dog I ever had. She's at the rainbow bridge--probably playing with Sparkey. I know the heart ache. Bob
