unit 125 elk

Me and a buddy are considering putting in for unit 125 for elk. We live in Utah and had some general question such as is there any wilderness, does the public land hold any elk, we are not too big of trophy hunters would just like to get an elk would this be an area to consider.

125 is mostly private land with small 1 mile square sections of checkerboarded state and BLM land that appears to be hard to access. There are no wilderness areas within 125 that require a guide or licensed resident to accompany a NR. Just looking at my map, I would say that you could find a lot better unit unless you have the PPs and can get on a ranch with good hunting.
