Unit 15 Elk

My 60 year old uncle drew the late season muzzy bull tag in unit 15. We are planning on spending a week checking out the unit this August. Is this a good unit to hunt off horseback?

There are roads everywhere in 15. Can't see any need for horses.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-07-16 AT 09:52PM (MST)[p]I take my horses to ANY unit I draw for elk and deer . Especially a late season m.l. hunt or rifle. The bulls wont be talking and covering large secluded areas , and getting to high points away from roads to find bulls relaxing from the stress of the rut, and previous hunts is key. Anyone that has experience with horses and hunting with them knows the horses keep the game more relaxed in most cases , also you cover three to five time more country than the guy on foot. Unit 15 has Great areas that horses are VERY handy . At the very least least they carry your elk out . good luck
