unit 24 early archery

does any one have any good info or areas for a backpack mule deer hunt in unit 24/flatops area? Ill be hunting early archer. I am willing to hump 15+ mls. All info is welecome

I hunted 24 for Elk opening week of archery off my back. I saw about 100 elk and about 6 total deer. My buddy had a deer tag, and he stopped carrying his bow by the end of the week. Another group that went with us saw the same thing. Lots of elk few deer. I have been out there twice now, and only saw a few deer. Just my experience.

There are very few deer in area 24,it is better known as an elk unit.I have hunted the area several times and only have seen a handful of deer.
