There's a resort in the town about 20 miles south of Alpine. Wild Bill there is licensed outfitter with horses from the ranch and he might be able to help. Couple years ago I found a local asking around in the Alpine general store / gas station.
You will have to be in the Blue River to have any good this time of year most likely. Prepare for some steep country brother. Not that high but what it lacks in elevation, it makes up for in grade. Lots of elk in that country. Wish I was going back.
