Unit 31 Deer

I am considering putting in for this unit, and I was wondering if anyone has any input on the deer hunting in this area.

I have seen the harvest results for 2007 and 2008, but I don't know how this area was in 2009. Is this area improving, getting worse, or staying the same.

Anway, any information on this unit would be much appreciated.

Wish I could help. Never been there and I don't know anyone who has.

Haven't been there in many years. Archery hunted it in the late 90s and it was great.

There is always a good buck in there somewhere. Just have to be patient with this area as the deer are really spread out. do a lot of glassing off of the disaster peak area and you will do good.

The research I've done says that this unit and some near it are down. I'm sure there is a good buck or two somewhere though.

Are you referriing to harvest statistics or other data that indicates 31 is on the decline?

Not the statistics but talking with numerous guides, outfitters, bird hunters and state personnel.
