So I just booked a sheep hunt that will take place in 2024. I’m starting to consider focusing on backpack style deer hunts between now and then to try and test the gear prior to the big trip. I was a NM resident from 2013-2018 but now live in NC (serious bummer for hunting). I’m looking hard at deer hunts in 45 as an option but haven’t been there yet. Would love to chat with someone who’s familiar with the unit about access, how easy it is to find water, etc. Feel free to PM and thanks to anyone willing to let me pick your brain in advance!
