Unit 55 deer youth rifle

My 12 year old drew the 55 rifle tag. We will be headed out to hunt October 23 to the 31st. Plan on setting up the wall tent - camp location not yet set.
A few have given some advice from this site and others - but just sending out one more time for any suggestions, etc.
We have horses and quads - most have suggested the quads. My son can hike very good - so we would are willing to hike. We also don't mind hiking in with our backpack gear for a few nights if suggested.
