Unit 68

Drew unit 68 3rd season. Just wondering what the roads are like when wet/snowy. Chains??? I'm not a road hunter, just curious about traveling the unit.

Depends on how much snow and the terrain where you are. I always carry enough for both axles.

I was up there a few years ago on a third season hunt and it dumped. Luckily I had a four-wheeler but chains would be a must have to get around otherwise. There was one guy who must’ve slid his truck into a tree because the front of his truck was smashed.

You would be smart to carry chains anywhere in CO on a 3rd season hunt. Soil composition can very even within the same unit. Some parts ok, some parts almost impassible (ahem.. red dirt clay type stuff)
