HEADING TO UNIT 76 ON A BACKPACK TRIP WITH A GOOD BUDDY OF MINE AND WILL BE HUNTING NORTH OF MONTPELIER, CLOSE TO RED MOUNTAIN. I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF HUNTERS IN THAT UNIT BUT IM HOPING BY PACKING IN I CAN GET AWAY FROM THE MASSES. I HAVE HUNTED UNIT 43 BEFORE BUT I WAS HOPING A NON MOTORIZED UNIT WOULD BE BETTER FOR Backpackers. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK.

76 is a great unit. Not quite what it used to be but that is most of mule deer country I guess. I shot my first buck on 76 in the early 90s. Rifle or bow? You'll have a great hunt.

I've hunted that area a bunch of times, shoot me a msg and I'll share some info on where I've packed in. Pretty easy to get away.

Hunted that area 3 years ago don't know the area real well but we killed some decent bucks, shoot me a pm and I'll give u any info I have hopefully can help u out
