Unit 88 elk

just curious about this unit looks like no wildnerness, easy access and an easy draw. Is there something I'm missing or a reason I don't know about on why it seems nobody applies for this unit. Any info is appreciated.

Tough hunt. You have to get a substantial snow to get the elk moving into that area. There are resident elk but they live in some of the most rugged steep country God ever created. I wouldn't even attempt to hunt that country without horses to get you to the top where the elk live.

Same story. Not many resident elk. Pockets of them here and there. I believe the general tag is the way to go for non resident hunters. Manageable draw odds and you can hunt a lot of good places.
