Army times Tuesday Sep 30th. Beginning Oct 12 th the 1st BCT brigade of the US Army will be under the control of US Army north northern Command as an on call federal responce force fopr natural and man made disasters and civil unrest. They are being deployed to assist local and federal law enforcement agencies (civil )authorities.
"The brigade may be called upon to to help with civil unrest and crowd control." They will be known as consequence management response force or CCMRE"
One of Americas most sacred principles has alwasy been tah the military was never intended to be used as a domestic police force. Standing armies in our own country and the fear of ran very deep in the hearts of our forefathers.
Posse commitatus was enacted after the civil war which prohibits the military from exercising state law enforcement or peace officer duties. Only and unless expressly authorized by congress the National Guard can partake in assistance with law enforcement duties.
This act was passed in 1878. But now the Govt has effectively wiped out this act and made it possible for our military to act as policemen in our own country.
This is real and not something I have made up. I was reading it this morning at the small cafe where I live, over a cup of Coffee and great biscuits and gravy.
If thsi doesn't raise anyones eyebrows I don't know what will. Seems to me everything is kinda movin to the center in our Govt where it can all meet up.
Any political science majors or history profs want to respond to this?
What is going to happen to our way of life? What price will we have to pay at last? What I ask you are you willing to do to ensure our liberties remain what they are supposed to be. I ask these questions of any American looking and I also ask it of Mr. President elect.
I am begiining to be very disgusted with our Govt.
Bugler, Preparation is key to victory.

Perhaps they are planning something that they expect to cause a lot of upset people. Wouldn't surprise me.

Obviously you ain't old enough to remember Kent State, Ohio .. dip sh!t!

RUS

Rus, you are the dip on this one. Kent State involved national guard units called into action by the Governor of Ohio. This article is discussing the regular army being called into a police role. Better get your facts straight before you start with the name calling.

Such subversive rhetoric, questioning our Commander-n-Chief in a time of war tisk tisk. I'd be careful of what you are trying to imply Bugler or perhaps you might be labeled an enemy combatant and detained without Habeas Corpus.

Bush already took control of the National Guard away from the Governors so why does action surprise you?

Like Bush said about the Constitution, "It's just a god daxn piece of paper." or Alberto Gonzales, "It's an outdated document."

As for your 2A rights, well those have been gone for a very long time. Our federalized armed forces ensures that superior weaponry is banned for public sale. Bye bye 2A, no matter how many guns I own, it will be no match for an Apache Helicopter or C-130 Gunship. So much for the good intentions of the founding fathers or Presidential Oaths to protect the Constitution.

Let us hope our all volunteer Armed Forces would refuse any orders to quell or police civil unrest between now and the 20th of January. You've made your feelings known about Obama, but just remember which administration and party these excursions from the Constitution have taken place under.

I don't remember the republicans ever taking away second amendment rights before. Must have missed that one. I did see where Obama and Biden are pushing to take as many guns and as much ammo as possible. Maybe both parties have conspired to drive oil up then crash the economy so they could take over banking and manufacturing in order to control the population. I don't know but one thing and that is without weapons the next revolutionary war will be sort of lopsided. I do believe we will see some sort of taxpayer revolt or a civil war between constitutionalists and socialists in our time.

Where did you see Obama and Biden are driving a push for guns and ammo? on the NRA emergency donation form? give me a break Obama hasn't even picked his administration yet but he's got gun control handled, whatever.

Why do you figure there is another revolution coming? maybe someday there will be but if that happens it won't end like it did before, in this day in age we won't have the luxury of setting up our own form of government agian. Putin would love to send in a peace keeping force after we soften ourselves up, it's in our best interest to work together anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant.

By the way given the facts of the last 8 years who are the socialist anyway?

I don't give money to the NRA. I also agree that the last administration spent way too much money and did not use the veto power as it was intended to eliminate major pork programs. Both Biden and Obama have clear records in support of gun control and if you read anything on the subject you would realize that the new Brady bill is going to be introduced along with ammunition identification programs. We do need to work together but to say the democrats will be more responsible with tax dollars is a joke. Schumer is already proposing doubling the total bailout expense for economic and social programs. I will give Obama credit for coming out with a more reasoned approach by his recent shift on taxes. He is saying now that the Bush tax cuts for those nasty rich people may have to stay for a while. I just have no idea how they will pay for the wild spending designed to save the economy with so much of the middle class disappearing so fast. We are learning hard lessons right now. Trickle down economics definitely works now that nothing is trickling anymore and politicians will promise anything to get elected. Desperate people do desperate things. The few cannot support the many so something will eventually break.

A little bill introduced by the democrats in AZ as well as in the Congress of the U.S.

Kind of goes along with the control of certain rifles and all handguns doesn't it? Maybe I am wrong and Obama will vetoe such legislation.

Chloride I assume with your post you were attempting some sort of insult against my fragile sensibilties. Listen I could care less what you or any of your whining ass liberal sisters think.
As someone has correctly ascertained the Kent State riot involved the National Guard not the regular Army. The National guard is commanded by the Governor of their state unless called to active duty then to serve under the President. So before you let your little mind wander and resort to calling folks names I suggest you quit sipping your 40 of old english get off the couch and get a life, besides that I get insults fired at me more than most people so it kinda bounces off.
You mustve been one of the students at Kent State? Or are from the people republic of California am I close? Just curious.
The thing I posted was directly from the Army times, Of which I am a subscription holder, because I did serve. Anyways enough of that.
The only reason I posted it was to point something out to some more people that maybe can start adding things up.
As far as being labeled an enemy combatant, Well I guess taht would put me in the same boat as my founding fathers, A great group to be part of I would think.....Fine. Your safe Chloride from that label for the time being. LOL

Oh I forgot, Now I am not a lawyer just your friendly highway patrolman but if I read it correctly it means that anyone that is reloading by 2011 will be doing so illegally?? Hmm makes one think or maybe not knowing some of the knuckle heads here.
What you say Chloride have anything to do with a Kent State conspiracy?
