Units 181 & 27 Range Conditions

How do these units look this year? I heard it was a mild winter and mild spring so not a lot of moisture but also not a lot of stress on the deer.

dry doesn't come close to describing it. The sage didn't even green up this year except in little ribbons in the draws. Springs are dry that haven't been in anybodies memory- its bad but could have silver linings all those critters have to be somewhere wet...

maybe they'll all be huddled up around one of the lakes on the property

You could do a "chuck Norris " and come up out of the water firing full auto at the shoreline and almost certainly get them alll!! It has improved dramatically in the last 3 weeks with heavy rains almost every afternoon. The grass in the sage is out of dormant and starting to green up. I don't think the sage can recover in time but maybe... On the bright side it is an amazing year for hummingbird watching as there are no flowers so they only have the feeders. Now if the deer can just learn to drink sugar water.
