I wanted to share my story with all of you. On the 8th day of my archery hunt in Idaho I was sneaking in on a buck of a lifetime. At 50 yards I readied myself for a shot on the unsuspecting buck. What happened next blew me away. A mountain lion snuck in and jumped on the buck and took him to the ground. The big bodied buck was able to get away and ran right towards me with the lion hot on his heels. At 30 yards I drew my bow and held my ground. The lion stopped shortly after but the buck kept coming full speed. Just when I thought he was going to run me over, the buck jumped right over me and landed some 4 or 5 yards behind me. I quickly spun around and for some reason the buck paused just long enough for me to get a shot off. I then checked my back trail to make sure the lion wasnt coming next. I couldnt see the lion but was later informed that the lion just sat down in the brush and watched as I tracked my deer. When we found my buck we were blown away. He is 33 1/4 inches wide with tons of mass. I havent scored him yet and dont plan to for some time. He is a awesome animal no matter what the "score"is...check out the photo of the buck laying on the ground. you can see the lion scratches in his back. pretty cool stuff.
