Vane length

Call me old school, but I am using three inch vanes and started years ago with four inch vanes. I'm getting ready to order new arrows and wondered what your thoughts are on the smaller vanes, smaller than three inch? Will I get same flight? More or less accuracy? Do they get drifty at longer distances? I want to take the plunge, I just need a little push.

You mean smaller like Blazers and Max Hunters? They may be smaller in length but they are higher profile and are stiffer, so they have similar steering charachteristics as a 4" vane.

Yep. They are shorter length wise, but are wider. What would be the advantage then? Just less length?

one of the guys in Humphries told me today when I was asking the same question. Said that supposibly there less wind drift if your shooting in a cross wind. Think thats what I'll go with..

Sounds good to me. Unconfirmed, but supposedly less wind drag and a bit more speed.

Less wind resistance. Less weight, which makes for higher FOC.
