He was about 15 yards. Had a stare down for a couple minutes.
He moved down the hill a little ways out of sight, so we tried to continue on the trail. Found out he didn't go very far,
he was like 12 yards down the hill still,
saw me and started moving back up the hill at me
I was like "Oh Sh...."

Cool video. I regularly encounter moose while bowhunting the Wasatch. It is not a fun experience to come fact-to-face with a big bull on a trail in the dark with only your headlamp.

I totally agree. I hunt the Wasatch a lot too, and I've never seen a bear or cougar, so I don't worry about anything but moose. I've had many times where I run into them and it's a stand off. I've had to do detours many times to get around if they won't budge. And if I don't detour far enough away they think I'm flanking them and they don't like it and they start coming towards me.
