Wasatch deer herd?

I've been chasing elk in the Wasatch with my LE tag. I have put on a lot of miles and have only seen one buck over 8 days. A 1x2.

The most deer I've seen in a hike is 7.

I am hunting mostly dark timber but I have spent a few days on the open aspen slopes.

Is it as bad as it looks? I sure hope not.

I've seen 4 bucks from front seat of my truck and they were all in bow range from the road. The best part is all the trucks and sxs that fly out around me and not even slow down to see what I was looking at. 2 of those bucks I'm positive guys would have shot... just standing there in the trees and brush, watching the hunters go by. People need to remember this is an odd year. Much more feed and water available everywhere this time of year when a normal year that isn't the case. They are strung out more and because of that, give the impression that numbers are lower than they actually are.

I saw about a dozen bucks yesterday up there, a couple decent bucks.
I saw more in 2 hours than I saw in 7 days on Beaver last year!

I expect hunters drive and walk by far more bucks than they have any idea.
