Wasatch Elk ??

I'm a DIY elk hunter looking at the the odds for next years LE elk hunts and one of the hunts I could draw is the Early Wasatch rifle. I have only hunted the Wasatch on archery hunts years ago and know there are some good bulls 320-350 class but has anyone heard of or seen bigger in the last 2 year? I realize this is big unit but after 14 years my "OIL" elk hunt is more or less at stake. I just want to get some feedback if anyone thinks this unit truly holds BIG bulls recently in the 370-390+ class.

Thanks fellas for the feedback. Hunting hard and scouting can only be rewarded if the gene pool is there.

I know that there was a 389 bull taken off that unit this year. The bull was actually harvested on a CWMU, but migrated onto private land from the Wasatch

Hunted that year for 14 years now for deer and regularly see 330-350 bulls. Everyonce in a while catch a glimps of a 380+ but I would say thats maybe every three years or so. They are there, just not in the quantities you see in other units in Utah.

in this pic its just me and my bro in law we tagged along the hunter is takin the pict....it was the opener of the rifle and he came in hot we killed him at 60 yards..... i think he went 365... he isnt very wide or long beamed but way cool deffinetly a shooter any day!

With what Utah DWR has done with our elk herd you will be hard pressed to find a 370+ bull anywhere in the state.

Yea I heard wealth tags are selling for low dollar,now that theres only 370 class bulls.

noregrets, I helped guide four hunters this year all tagged out on bulls.Smallest bull went 352 and the largest went 393. There are still plenty of big bulls. I drew the archery Wasatch 2 years ago and killed a 373. Lots of luck on the draw.
