West Vernon archery buck that got away.

Had a blast hunting the LE Vernon hunt this year and came. Saw lots of bucks and last weekend took this decent buck. After dressing it out and beginning the long trek to the ATV, I felt a sharp prick from the back of the bucks antlers. After examining the source I found this imbedded in the antler. It was a broad head from the archery hunt. A very close miss for some hunter. I thought it was a cool story and thought I would post on here and see if anyone has ever seen this before.
Interesting.

Hopefully you can find the owner of that broadhead, and return the rack to him. Isn't that how its usually done in UT?

Great buck, congrats!

>How old did the broad head
>look? Could it be from
>last years hunt? ??

That's what I was thinking. Looks at least a couple of years old.

Congratulations on taking a great buck

Several years ago I killed a Bull Elk and when I got it back from the
processor he gave me a broadhead with 2? of shaft attached and a
22cal bullet that he found in the elk when He was processing it

Congrats, that's a great buck! That broadhead is really wild, I'm glad he was able to get the entire shaft off. I have a buck that has a bullet hole at the bottom of his antler!

He's a dandy buck. Good for you.

Long range archery shooter maybe? The broadhead might belong to the pack of Utards who lobe muzzleloader rounds 670 yards. I'd check with them, if it's not theirs they probably know who the rightful owner is.

Dang...wonder how many years ago that happened? guy could have been living with an arrow hanging out the side of his head for 5 years!

? Most Deer drop their antlers every year

Nice buck and cool photo's. I'm still trying to figure out the confusion people are having with the broadhead.
