Hey founder you should tell me when they shed there antlers are they still packing there horns. What month of the year do they shed there horns im in slc utah the
What kind of binos would you recommend for shed hunting purposes? All I get is 60 dollars a week any inexpensive binos that you could tell me about how about big 5 sporting goods let me know thanks
I will say they will shehed there antlers when they are ready.that being said I have found sheds from May to December. There is only one way to know for sure get off the pc and put some miles on them feet then you will know for sure if they have sheded.good luck.
Life ain't about waiting for the Strom to pass. Its about learning to hunt in the rain!
I found a little tiny 3 point one year on the 17 on January lion hunting and I've seen 170 bucks still packing the first of April. So you're guess is as good as mine
I'd say if you have a ?secret spot? hit it in late April. Don?t be surprised to see some old boot tracks though, I don't think there's a such thing as secret spots anymore, especially in Utah. Good luck
It took a long time to bring up the ethics course. I agree if you can't pass that course don't leave the site of pavement. You can hunt with out the course after April 15th. By then the sheds in your special place will be in someone's basement. I wish you luck anything to get out side the house is better than nothing. Over 1/2 the sheds I find are during walk abouts shooting ground squirrels (Potguts).
Save your energy for April. I hear most towns have easter egg hunts (better suited for you). All that is required is that you show up with some plastic bags and running shoes!
The deer can start dropping as early as January and as late as April or May each year. A lot depends on age, health, size, and other factors of individual animals. If you are wondering about a good time to go out, I say just go and give it a try! I love the fun and excitement of finding them, but many of my hikes I don't find anything at all. Like for me, it's all about the anticipation and rewards of the hunt, even if it was just a great day "out there"! And sometimes you can have find older sheds (I call "whities" or "grays") that were from previous years.
For example these were found this year from January to March (When a new law went into effect in my area closing the hunt until May 1). There is only one "brownie" among them. As I mentioned, just go give it a try and have an adventure doing so! And good luck!
