Homer?

Anyway, I happened upon a Basque restaurant in Carson City that's pretty good. Their Chorizo is really, really, tasty. Gonna have to get some more after Christmas. I made some Scrambled eggs with a bit of cream cheese and hatch green chiles and chorizo. Good stuff.

Pete's chorizo is famous. He used to be in Battle Mountain. Moved to Carson quite a few years ago. I assume you're talking about the villa deli that is.

Pete does make the best for sure. Used to buy a bunch all the time when he was in Battle Mountain. Now I stop every time I go through Carson

Haha. I forgot the name. The place is in the 700 block of Basque Street ic Carson City.

You can still get Pete's in battle town. They keep a pretty good supply at the furniture store and sell it as part of a high school fundraising thing... Last I knew anyhow....

Back when I lived in Nevada, I used to stay with a friend on mines brother when hunting deer out of Elko. He was married to a Basque girl. Boy could that lady cook. The food was almost looked more forward to than the hunting. mtmuley

That was probably the Star we used to stop and eat there all the time awesome steaks. Haven?t been there in years though timing is never right for dinner when I pass through.

Martin Hotel in Winnemucca

The Martin just opened a place in Carson too.
Toki Ona in Elko as well as the Star
JJ's in Gardnerville is awesome
Louie's Basque Corner - Reno
Santa Fe hotel - Reno
Used to be a place in Ely too but I believe it's gone.

I don't hear about the Basque a lot. I lived in Flagstaff, AZ for a while and there was a family with the last name of Auza there that went way back. I haven't heard anything about them for 20 years. I remember they had property that ended up being surrounded by new subdivisions and it looked like they were forced out.

As far as restaurants, not many I can think about in Arizona, I don't think I've ever had Basque food. I'm planning a trip next year through Nevada and will make a point to try it out.
