I hear you on a lot of this stuff.

5 years ago not one person backing Trump on this thread would have had one good thing to say about him.

The way I read it they give out 3 tags in that particular area. The funds generated are used to benefit that species. I'm trying to see the problem with this, but I can't.

To be honest.... I would rather vote for a few of you that have gave credible coherent responses. I take this forum and the people on it at there word. regardless if I agree with it, and I respect your beliefs even if I don't agree with them. Thats what makes us great.

Trump is pushing policies and implementing ideas I agree with. I see him doing it in a belligerent unprofessional manner that I don't agree with. He is no roll model, his past is sketchy at best. He has shown no remorse for others and there's values unless it aligns with his. He has from day one called your fellow Americans your enemies. This is not what makes a great leader. How I see it this is not what made America great....I respect your opinions but I have a hard time buying into a movement that wants to tear down all that made America great in the name of Trump.

As for me, it will be Trump hands down for my vote. Some reasons why. Trump has kept more of his campaign promises then Clinton, Bush, or Obama.

As for Obama, he was the biggest and best con-man ever elected to the office of president. Even worse then tricky d!ck Nixon.

Like Biden, he used his office to line his own pockets with millions of dollars while failing to deliver on his promises. He failed to pass bills that would help the citizens, even his own people when he had a majority of both houses during his first two years in office.

He lied about the attack on our embassy that killed 4 Americans because it would dispute his statement that he had the terrorists on the run and it would effect his re-election for his second term.

Instead of firing Lois Lerner for her targeting conservative non profit groups with IRS examinations, he allowed her to retire with a full pension on the tax payers back. Have you ever wondered why he failed to punish her?

The supervisor agent in charge of the "fast and furious" scandal of allowing about 2,000 firearms get into the hands of Mexican cartels that were used to kill a border patrol agent was never admonished by Obama for his malfeasance. Instead he was promoted to the Washington D.C. office which is a prized duty station. The Democrats tried to use that figure to promote their anti gun bill on so called assault weapons. Have you wondered why Obama failed to punish that ATF supervisor.

Unlike Biden or Hillary, Obama was more cunning about getting his pocket lined with millions of dollars. He saw that a certain company got the contract for the "CORE" education program, that my two family members that are school teachers say was a worthless program that is being abandoned by many school districts.
After Obama leaves office, a publishing company that is connected to the company that got the CORE program for many millions of dollars, gives the Obama's a 65 million dollar book deal to write their memoirs. There is many book authors that have written several best sellers that can not get that great of a book deal. No way that publishing company will sell enough books to get their 65 million back and make a profit on top of it. Does that not strike you as possibly being a payoff to the Obama's wallet?

The Democrats gave us Obama, then they tried to give us crooked Hillary, then on the third time in a roll they are trying to give us another crook in Biden. Who on top of it all is in the first stages of dementia and does not know where he is most of the time.

You are correct, they lost the house. Conservatives saw what fighting back looked like. And they were not inspired at all with the milk toast, limp wristed mouthpieces they had so they let them die on the vine.


I don’t love Trump. I prefer my public lands stay public and he’s been not great. I prefer to not steal money from my great grand kids and he’s been horrific.

His judges have been very good. His economy was second to none. His attention to the border and China were the 1st, ever.

Trump didn't lie about the fake impeachment.....the dem ADAM SCHIFF even read into the record things he never said to try to use against him for Impeachment. They also made unsubstantiated claims of wrong doing by the president that had no merit. They also knew every single one of their witnesses had NO PROOF of wrong doing on his part. Yet they still went ahead and tried to impeach him using a fraudulent claim by a person that never witnessed the call he filed the complaint on. How's that for honesty?

Then the Dems knowingly stated thousands of times on national TV and in interviews and had their media machine write false stories against the man while knowing they testified under oath to NO KNOWLEDGE OF COLLUSION BY THE PRESIDENT.

They even spent millions upon millions of the taxpayers money launching the Mueller Investigation while knowing it was patently false from the onset.

Then they weaponized the FBI, DOJ, NSA, and other agencies of the federal government going so far as to fabricate false evidence to launch a fraudulent investigation against the man.

So here we are Trump has some warts but he told the people truth in the instances above when the dems committed illegal and illicit acts to conspire against the President and the country. All the plots to remove him were defeated on the basis of the evidence furnished and that's exactly how the system should work.

Is this the party you want running your country and every SINGLE one of them knew the truth and lied to us even their current candidate for President..........They actually tried to remove a sitting president using illegal means to influence public opinion to seek his ouster. Since they couldn't pull that off they tried to impeach him with no grounds on a partisan sham which violated his and your right's in the process. They tried to overturn the electorates choice in an election. Remember when OLD Hillary claimed Trump wouldn't accept the choice of the people? Well whose party wouldn't accept that choice and committed fraud on the American people?

It's an easy choice if you just look at how far they went to abuse the system and the man, while spitting on our Constitution and his and our right's, while completely trampling our laws and legal process. When you abuse our laws and our legal process in this manner your party doesn't deserve to hold elective office in this country. You violated every tenet in your oath of office and the trust the American people put in you to serve. The way I see it is Trump may not be politically correct, he may not be professional in speaking etc. He is not a politician by any means, but the man has a huge set of balls & I truly believe he cares about this country!! The slimey democrats have done nothing for 3 1/2 years, but waste tax payers money on witch hunts because they can not stand that an outsider is president!! What I do want is a Republican candidate with integrity, that understands that government requires compromise when a nation is split 50/50, otherwise we are cast into a situation where we swing like a pendulum from one extreme to the next. As I see it, Republicans stand a fair chance of losing both the Presidency and the Senate. I have always voted Republican, and am more or less satisfied with the way this nation has been run for the past half-century. I own and use firearms, my kids are well-educated and safe, I earn enough money to buy what I need as well as a vacation now and then, and no one tells me who I must or must not serve. In comparing my situation and that of my neighbors with those I see in other countries, I realize that I am very fortunate. If you cannot make it in the US, then you cannot make it anywhere. I do not see the need to pull the system apart, and I have not seen a similar degree of success in any nation where the population is split ideologically. Not in Iraq, Israel, Serbia...

I'm a really old guy and made some of the most deadly weapons on earth for the military in my lifetime and been around the world several times and been to many nations at war. I've seen socialism, communism, and totalitarianism up close and every other form of governance on earth.

What you have is the best, but you have to vote to keep it. Like Ben Franklin said "it's a republic if you can keep it". Well guess what your test is going on right before your eyes are you up to keeping the republic? You're at war and if you think they give a damn about your morality or your virtue you'd be mistaken. They'll lie to you and snatch your country right out from under you if given the chance just like they did many in Europe, It's time to face reality, this is one election you have to play to win not punt.

Trump was not the candidate that I wanted out of the Republican candidate's. But now I am thankful he was the one to survive. I truly believe he is the only Republican candidate out of the 2016 field that could have held up to the toxic atmosphere that has been created by the media and the many idealistic self center organizations. It took a man that had Trumps personality and self arrogance to say FU.
Just look at what they did to Drew Breez and make him beg for there forgiveness and confess to the world he is an terrible person because he is white.
What had taken place over the last two weeks I do beleve if Obama, Hillary or Biden was in office this country might have burned to the ground.
Like most on this site I am a middle class white man that works hard to earn a living and I volunteer many hours a week in helping out my small community. I try to be a good honest God fearing man and try to be honest and helpful with my neighbors and others that i deal with throughout my days and it does not matter race, creed or gender. I vote for the best candidate that I believe will best represent my values and/or protect my values.
Some do a fare job others are just con artists. Trump is not a guy I would want to break bread with but he would be fun to share a six pack with (Dr Peper) but Trump has done a better job than I expected.

I am disgusted with both parties. Nothing in my comments should be construed to support the actions of either. Leaders on both sides lie as a matter of habit, and if we are ever going to change this we cannot simply roll over and accept whomever the party gives us.

I have not decided who I will vote for, but it won't be either of those two. One or the other will become president, but not with my support. My point has been that neither party appears to care much about character, and if they are rewarded even half of the time regardless, then what incentive do they have to change? They know that most people will hold their noses and vote for the best of the worst.

As I see it, more integrity and less tribalism in government is the change we need most. I believe Clinton's lack of integrity cost her the independent vote and that she would otherwise have won the election. I expect that Trump's behavior may cost Republicans the presidency as well as the Senate this time around. And, just like the Dems blamed everyone but themselves for their miscalculation in 2016, it is frightening to me that Republicans have not bothered to cull in favor of a better fish when they know they are holding a carp in the livewell. If the major parties want the independent vote, then they must work harder to represent more than just their own base, and the first to recognize this fact will hold power over the long-term.

Answer is the media. offtrail I really suggest a different news station. For myself I watch very little news. I will watch the news to see what lies they are selling that idea and what brainwashing techniques they are using.

I work with a few liberals. They swore all day that trump was guilty from the dems crap of judge kavanaugh, Russia, urkaine and on and on(I have lost count of what the dems have tried). I suggested they did a little research and not be a sheep of the fake news.

Stats show that over 190 thousand persons fled CA. last year for better living with lower taxes and regulations. Business companies have been fleeing for many years to other states. Democrats have been in control of our state government since 1972 and they have just about destroyed this state's economy compared to what it used to be.

I am as concerned about tribalism within the United States as I am about globalism without.

Anyone who cannot admit that BOTH parties have lied throughout this recent ordeal is deluding themselves. So, in response to your question "How can you vote for the party that lied...", I would say that I cannot--for either--and wish more people felt the same way about it. Only then will the lies stop.

Where is the strength in a man that must push his way past the Prime Minister of Montenegro in order to place himself in the center of a photo-op?

Bull - you might read this article by one of the best writers and critical thinkers of our time. What these former generals have done in attacking the sitting President may just be illegal. At the very least it's dangerous & has made life for those that are still serving in uniform more difficult. Seems odd that they would do this. How did I get dragged into this? If I am not allowed to vote my conscience and must obey the party choices, how free am I? I prefer to be free to vote for whom I think is best not just rubber stamp a party's pick. You can continue to thump your chest because look where it got it us.

Trump's record on my biggest issue with be worse that Obama's who was the worst of to that point but not many former conservatives on here much care, so there is that.

If the measure of a competent president is that he was elected, then I suppose there will be no complaints about Biden's if he is elected?

For the most part the "change" that I have wanted is integrity in leadership. Still don't have it, so I am not satisfied.

I don't expect perfection, but I do believe we can do better than this. And, like most of the people on this forum, I probably will not shut up when this is all over, nor should we.

If the far left wins, it won't be because I did not agree to the kick to the shin. And I will have little sympathy for those who cry about receiving the blow to the head when that was the only option they left us. If you don't agree that we have only bad choices at this time, fine, perhaps your guy will win. But don't whine if he does not--you will have taken your best shot. But it is my opinion that it was a very risky shot to take, and that Republicans might have done better with a candidate that appeals also to centrists.

That is a great observation. I started a post last week asking which media sources were reliable and it seems that few wanted to put their neck out for any of them. There are, of course, many media outlets that favor Trump, but there are even more that give him undue criticism 24-7. I think that news outlets, whether in favor or against, are appealing to their audiences. Do the outlets drive the mood of the country, or do the people--the audience--dictate programming? We all pay more attention to those that we trust. If FOX has a larger audience, then it is probably because it is trusted by more people. It would therefore have a greater influence, too. If, on the other hand, conservative channels are viewed by a smaller audience, then it is because people do not trust what they hear and they will therefore have less impact. In a world of dozens of outlets, of all political views, it is hard to believe that people can't find conservative (or liberal) news, if that is what they want to hear.

I support our president regardless of who they are..... I don’t agree with Any president we have had completely. But I do support them. Right or wrong that’s partly why I support trump.

That actually is incorrect in presidential elections because of the Electoral College. There is no such thing as a "wasted vote" unless we were directly electing candidates based on the popular vote. If I write in a candidate it has the same affect for both candidates of the two main parties, neither gets a vote.

Can you find anywhere the Founder's of this country believe, supported or enshrined a system where we only have two choices on who to vote for? I have looked and can't find it. Maybe you can show me where this is.

Only the parties are telling you what the choices are and if you have to agree that there are only two choices then you are not very free to pick your leaders, they are picked for you.

I do not accept the premise that all politicians are liars and so should give up on demanding integrity in government. As I see it, that is the very complaint that we all have in common. And so I will undoubtedly have plenty to say about the outcome of this election--same as anyone else here. Voting for one or the other of the two major party candidates is not a prerequisite for having a voice. I am just as worried about losing freedoms to Trump, who has absolutely no spine judging from his juvenile behavior, and who believes himself to be accountable to no one and who does his damnedest to eliminate even those in his own party if they dare to criticize his personal behavior. It is one thing to stifle dissent in terms of policy, but when a president is so insecure that he cannot even tolerate criticisms of inappropriate behavior, then I am concerned that this is a dangerous break from normal. Must we actually kiss his a$$ over everything? Consider how most of those attempting to defend him as a candidate speak highly of character, yet deny that it matters in the leadership they follow. I don't get that.
 
Bullskin one of the most honest presidents I can recall in my lifetime was Jimmy Carter. Due to his strong belief in his religion, he was far more honest then presidents before and after him.
He was honest, but he was also a poor president on many policies.

Yimmy is the reason I have voted against democrats my whole life. The Carter years were terrible. Carter is the reason you can't get an assumable mortgage anymore. I also hold him responsible for the Chrysler "K car". I couldn't wait to pull the lever for President Reagan. (y)
 
Carter's foreign policy was also in the crapper like Obama's was and that cost him his election after the Iran debacle.
I also bought my first home during Carter's last year in office and the mortgage rates were terrible going though a regular mortgage company or bank. I was lucky and used my G.I. bill to buy at a decent monthly rate with lower interest.

You may be right. Last time I tried, I wasn't able to get one for some reason. It's been a while since I had one.

Made a little run up the Oregon Coast last week for wife’s B day. Gods country. Full of hipped, and rednecks, but stunning. Dropped out of the trees and skirted Portland to airport. That city is DISGUSTING. Covered in spray paint. Garbage everywhere. It makes LA look clean.

The point is, if this is how libs treat their own homes, I want ZERO to do with them. My dogs don’t chit in there own houses. There is seomething insane in a mindset that looks at a city in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas on earth, and says “we can’t be judgemental. We can’t demand personal responsibility.”

Take a ride through Portland, San Fran, and I’ll assume Seattle (never been there).
LOOK at what these cities look like.

Then think about voting THAT mentality in charge.

DC generals, are still DC generals. Mattis being fired by Obama and Trump kinda shows perhaps Mattis reads his own press too much?

Powell, Mattis, Kelly. Not one war won between the 3 of them. Perhaps, just perhaps, they ARENT the great men their PR agents build them to be?

Whether you like it or not, we are in the last battle for the soul of this country. If after 3.5 years of daily 24 hr beatings via the media and dems, we quit just out of exhaustion, we lose. Literally.

Look past Trump.

According to the media, via the dems, YOU are the issue.

Your guns, your religion, your “privledge”, your morality, your capitalism, YOU are the problem.
