Anyone familiar with people in the area that rent out pack horse for week/ weekend ?? Searched the web - found nothing!

spome, I would try the 96 ranch in Paradise Valley I know they used to guide and have horses, maybe they would rent or lease, dont hurt to try, GONHUNTIN

The 96 no longer guides and are not in the business of renting out horses. If you want horses in that area, you will need to bring your own. I don't know of anyone that rents them out, nor do any of the local guides even use them.

Yes marco - live in susanville,ca quite familiar with area. Doing some homework on options for hunt in the area. Thx to all for there valued input.

Not many areas where you can get over 2 miles from a road near Winnemucca. And most of the areas w/o roads are steep & rocky. The only real wilderness is the Santa Rosa's, and it's only a couple of miles in from each direction before it gets too steep and rocky. Not worth the pain of taking care of horses.
