So any ideas on what the season dates are going to be ? I'm just curious if I should get a tag for my spring bear hunt in case I run in to a wolf .

That year when they had the hunt , did the wolf season start in the fall ?

The actual previous season dates may still be listed on F&G site. What I remember is that most zones started concurrent with general deer hunt and ended in March. I do think it opened a little earlier in the Middle Fork.

I think your right about those general dates . I'm probably out of luck for the spring time . Probably wouldn't be a very good pelt in the spring time , but I was just thinking out of the box . I have never seen them on my baits , but I have seen there tracks around . Zippin a arrow through a wolf would be pretty dang cool though , if one just happened to come in for a little snack .

Here are a couple pictures of them north of Boise on/around my bait sites. Two of the pictures are taken from my trailcam on my bait site, the others I took up in the same area. The one at my bait was a usual customer but unfortunately it was just after they closed the season last year... I never actually saw that one but with a little more time invested I probably could have.

Dang the pictures didn't work . I'm no picture expert , but I think I have heard guys say the .jpg needs to be removed .

I really would like to see the pics

I don't know why but the link is underlined all the way till the end and leaves the "(2).jpg" not underlined. If you copy the link, the whole link including the jpg and paste it into your browser, it will pull up the pictures. Not sure why it only underlined part of the link.

Nothing special in the pictures. The one in my trailcam is in the spring and looks pretty skinny, etc. The one I got a pic in the rocks of though is a decent one and that was in the spring as well. Only a couple years ago on that one.

Did you click "upload photo"? If you try to copy past the link that comes up in the browser box it wont work. Copy past the whole link after you click "upload photo".

There are 3 seperate links below. They all start with http:// and they all end with (2).jpg I don't know why it isn't working but when I copy the links (1 by 1 seperately) into the address bar of any browser, and click "go", it pulls up the picture. I have no idea why only a portion of those links were underlined in my first post. but copying one link, pasting it into an address bar and clicking go should pull it up. Then you can do the next one, and so on. If it isn't working on your guys' end, sorry. Not sure what else I can do to get them up there. The links below are the entire link that was available to copy/paste after I clicked "upload photo".

Hope that works! Sorry if not..

So, based on the actual laws, are you allowed to shoot a wolf or actually any other animal around your "bear" bait? I'm not a bear hunter so I don't even know baiting rules.

I didn't think of wolves as big scavengers but I talked to two guys this last week alone that had wolves on deer/elk cut piles the day after the gutting. If baiting is legal or if it is legal to sit on your gut pile, that may not be a bad idea.
