Worst Hunting Shows?

Sure this has probably been done before, but the rain has me caught indoors with too much time!

How about picking your worst 3 in no particular order.
Then how about 3 best?

Best:

The Professionals (Shockey)
Noslers Magnum TV
Tracks Across Africa (Boddington)
okay, one more-Relentless Pursuit (Tim Wells)

Worst:

Gone Huntin' (Tony Nafe)
Trophy Quest
Turkey Call (not a big turkey fan)

Venison and Zinfandel are GOOD!

Worst

Saw it the other day but not sure of the name, something like "Long distance Hunting" it was made by the Gunwerks people. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. There was about 1.5 minutes of actual wildlife footage, which was crappy at best because they were a freaking mile from the elk. The rest of the show focused on their product.

I don't care that they can shoot a thousand yards, I don't want every other turd on the mountain thinking they can too if they by a fancy gun that advertises "1000 yards out of the box."

Best

"On your own adventures"

Just like the show and the host.

Its lonely at the top.... just the way I like it.

Dead dog walking- horrible! !! Wanna be dog killers who are bad shots and use goose or duck calls, but have the e-caller going down in the draw!

I don't like the new Best of the West with cooper arms. I enjoyed the spaghetti western theme of last year with the gunwerks crew.

Likes

Relentless pursuits- a couple goons who are avg joes but good shots.
On you own adventure- real world hunting, good show!
Predator Quest- Les puts a good show together
Shockey always has a cool show

I don't like a show that says we are hunting big mule deer and then kill a pisscutter 3 or 4 point!

Anything with Jackie Bushman in it and also the coffee drinking guy, can't thnk of his name now but always has a cup in his hand and his wife cooks towards the end of the show.

Babe Winkleman? I am out on his show too!!

Don't remember the show but I can't stand the formatting. It has the narrator talking about 3 or 4 different hunts/fishing trips going on at once and they keep bouncing between them all in the 30 minutes.
I don't like how that show is set up and refuse to watch it.

Mntman

"Hunting is where you prove yourself"

Can't stand Steve's outdoor adventures. He's proof that ANYONE could do their own show.

Any Turkey or Whitetail hunting.

The absolute worst show is Spirit of the Wild. The hunts and listening to him talk are enough to avoid that show at all costs!

Best: Craig Boddington... Trax Across Africa...

Truthfully I don't like hardly any of them anymore.. The re enacting is a big turn off for me.. That goes with all of today's reality shows.. There is one hunting show that I used to turn off as soon as it started, the opening music was some redneck trying to rap....Very annoying

I like Boddington and Zumbo.

Can't stand turkey/whitetail shows. Especially when the whitetails look like their antlers are on steroids, and in pens.

Whatever became of Tred Barta after his stroke? pc

Tred is back on the air in a wheelchair. His sprit is still strong!

Venison and Zinfandel are GOOD!

There really are so many bad shows out there that it is amazing.

Pretty much any of the "Southern" shows seem to be especially bad. I think one is called "Hunting the World Southern Style."

I can't stand the shows that seem to focus more on horsing around and pulling jokes on each other than actually hunting.

I like On Your Own Adventures now on the Sportsmans Channel. I liked Quality Deer Management Assocaitions show but it didn't last. I like some of the Eastman's shows, also some of the Elk Chronicles.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-01-11 AT 04:28PM (MST)[p]>Can't stand Steve's outdoor adventures.
>He's proof that ANYONE could
>do their own show.

+1 Steve's is ridiculous especially his burris eliminator crap!

Best:
On you own adventures- Randy thank you for a great show.
Eastmans
Northwest Hunter

worst...anything with Wayne Pearson...always seems to talk down to us.

Best....Boddington, Shockey, On Your Own Adv....just down to earth no hype show. In fact I am watching On Your Own as I type.

from the "Heartland of Wyoming"

>I think The Rackman scores pretty
>high on the worst list
>!

I actually like the rackman.

The worst has to be the spirit of the wild.
Watched one where he was "hunting" goats on his Texas ranch and he shot one as it was eating at the pile of hay and it runs off and the other goat gives it a weired look and goes back to eating.

I know that I will get razzed for this one but I like Arrow Affliction when Chris Brackett used to be the host.

Best-Schockey
Worst-The rest
I cancelled the outdoor channel because of every Tom, #####, and Harry carrying a camera. Terrible shows anymore. The only one I look for anymore is North to Alaska with Czonka and it's on cable.

CAN'T STAND : WAYNE PEARSON, BABE WINKLEMAN, TIM HERALD, LARRY D. JONES, JIM ZUMBO, OR ANY OF THOSE SOUTHERN HOG GUYS.

LIKE: MR. JOHNSON ...PREDATOR QUEST, FRED EICHLER, TIM WELLS, CRAIG BODDINGTON, & THE EASTMANS SHOW...........YD.

I've long since grown tired of Zumbo but he was who he (rarely) talks about....just don't like all the cooking tips and similar.

The one I CANNOT STAND is the guy on Western Extreme. If he isn't the biggest elitist boob on TV, then he's a close 2nd. I've seen him a few times and don't believe he has a clue about anything other than he has more money (and therefor rights) than others.

(To be honest, many of the shows seem to be "by city boys and on behalf of city boys"....that or rich folk telling others what they bought.

I quite like the DIY guy (think that's the name of it)....they are always DIY on public land.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Anything with Buck Mcneeley. I am not sure how to spell it. I am still too cheap to pay for cable, so for a while 4-2 on antenna tv was ulitmate outdoors. Very few of the hunting shows on that channel were worth watching. But i do miss it now they put a stupid music channel on.

I'll tell you who it was . . . it was that D@MN Sasquatch!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-01-11 AT 06:22PM (MST)[p]"Anything with Buck Mcneeley."

+1

Did you see the episode where he shot the 2 year old pencil horned muley in Colorado that went "300lbs"?

LOL

Wayne Pearson comes off as an Southern elitist ass.

Likes.

Shockey
&
Les Johnson predator Quest.

I especially like Randy Newberg's On Your Own Adventures.
One of the very few that doesn't look like he's just buying his animals out of an SCI catalog.
He's a nice guy too that will talk to the average Joe.

Eastmans and on your own are great shows. Noslers Magnum is pretty good

The absolute worst ever is Dream Season Celebrity followed by Steves outdoors adventures. Best of the west could be good if the host's didn't seem so arrogant. Hunting the world southern style was also lame.

Best = GUN IT WITH BENNY SPIES.. One funny dude..

Worst = Best of the west / Gunwerks

2010 TOTALS
P.E.T.A. = 0 HUNTERS GONE
UTAH WILDLIFE BOARD = 13,000 HUNTERS GONE

LAST EDITED ON Jun-01-11 AT 08:15PM (MST)[p]Best: Eastman's, Long Range Pursuits, Best of the West and a few waterfowl hunting shows excluding anything with those inbreds out of Lousiana.

Worst: Colorado Buck sucks. Which of you guys are watching that douche and helping to keep him on the air? Next, any hunting show with some chick sitting in a tree stand or ground blind pretending to be a hunter. If I want to see big schnoobs and a cute face, I'll watch free porn on the net...

I personally love the Duck Commander show, how many of us have old guys we hunt with that are like those guys. I agree with on your own adventures. I like the eastmans if only because I am a western guy and they focus on it.

The worst by far PIGMAN, never mind the fact he personally threatened to sue me when I let his sponsors know that he was baiting elk in utah during the late season(not illegal) but about the most unethical thing I have seen a long time (cost him some sponsors). But he represents the worst of the "professionals", big mouthed alpha males who wish they could be in the WWE. I believe its Allan Warren who is doing the whitetail farming show(enough said). Any of the shows with women(other than Life on table mtn.), not that I am anti woman, but if I had to wait for my wife to do the nails, makeup and hair before I went out I would shoot myself. REALLY??? I hunt and fish with women, they pull back the hair and hit it hard, we don't need the "sex appeal" on our hunting shows.

for me that little punk on YOUNG BLOODS sets me off.....i watched ONE episode and wanted to reach thru the tv when he mouthed off to the P.H.....

I agree a lot of the turkey hunting on TV Freaken suck BUT... when you do it your self it sure is something else. Turkey hunting is one of the most difficult things to hunt if you ask me private and public land whick makes it that much more rewarding when you get one your self. But ya I agree that a lot of the turkey hunting out there on TV is the most worst TV shows out there. I like the primos team elk hunting thats one of my favorites.

Ted Nugent is pretty much a whack job...I enjoy Eastmans and Shockey. Pretty much easier to just buy a dvd from muley crazy and Mossback from time to time and don't have to fast forward through the commercials...

ON YOUR OWN ADVENTURES.......YES, that's it! (Not DIY). It is VERY good!!

Within the shadows, go quietly.

When I was speaking highly of DIY....I should have said, ON YOUR OWN! Eastman's is 2nd best.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

I absolutely love the Rackman. That by far is some of the best wildlife footage on the tube. I still get goose bumps everytime I see him arrow the #1 P&Y bull. IMO he is in the same catagory as the Muley Crazy Series for great footage.
Another show in the same caliber is Cody Robbins' Live To Hunt. He was a great cameraman for Shockey, but now that he is on his own he really kicks ass. Lots of great muley footage too.

There are a ton of really crappy shows that I can't stand. Most are of dinky dog deer or turkeys.

>for me that little punk on
>YOUNG BLOODS sets me off.....i
>watched ONE episode and wanted
>to reach thru the tv
>when he mouthed off to
>the P.H.....

I had to stop watching this one. As much as I love watching shows on Africa, I'm afraid that I'm going to put my fist through my 50" TV set!

Venison and Zinfandel are GOOD!

Best-"On Your Own Adventures"

Worst--All those with guys in a tree stand that think they have to whisper into the camera the whole time.

I especially like the farming and ranching for deer shows! NOT

I don't want a freakin' 200" WT from a "ranch" and neither should anyone else. IMHO (ok, maybe that was a bit harsh)

I get a little tired of them all, personally. I'd rather DO the hunting than just WATCH the hunting. Remember, porn will only do so much for you! LOL

Zeke

Best: anything with Fred Eichler. That guy is fun to watch----He gets excited to hunt anything!

Worst--There are lots of shows that suck.

respect my authorita

Best: Eastmans, Fast and Furious
Worst: Most of the Southern whitetail and turkey shows with annoying hosts and crappy rock music

Anything with Nugent in it blows, young blood makes me want to shake babys that might grow up to be that kid(wtf wants to wantch some spoiled punk kid go on safari and cry to his father when he doesnt get to shoot what he wants?),watched a new one the other day I think it was outdoor junkie, they went to alberta to hunt big muleys and then TRIED to kill the first 20" tiny 3x4 they saw, couldnt even pull that off, ended up going home without a shot fired it was pitiful.Any turkey hunting show sux.Any show with Jakie Bushman gets turned off immediatly.
I like Jim Shokey,Eastmans is ok if they would stop trying to take credit for spot and stalk DIY hunting like they friggin invented it.I like just about any show Micheal Waldell films, hes entertaining and seems like a fun guy to hunt with.Lee and Tiffany film some good ones.Archers choice has some good shows as well.

By a wide margin
Worst - 'Quest for the One' with Bill Urseth. Simply torturerous listening to him and watching him shoot fenced animals.

Couple of the African shows I enjoy the most.

Best---OYOA, Jim Shockey, Africa hunts with Boddington and Ivan Carter, Eastmans

Worst---Jackie Bushman, both long range shooting shows that are just selling shooting systems, and anything with Stan "give me a second" Potts in it!

There are some pretty dumb hunting shows but the dumbest hunting videos are those done by full butt productions. FMP makes the stupidest videos. I never bought one, never will and I hope they go out of business find jobs at mickey-dee's and stop trying to be "gangstas".

It was a big bodied 2 point.

Best- Eastmans
On your own Adventures
There are alot of bad ones.I usually just record them all and delete the ones that don't look interesting.I will not watch any Turkey hunting or whitetail unless there in Canada.

I know you asked for the worst Hunting Shows, but there are so many, in fact toooooo many to list. The best show that I enjoy watching is Eastman's. At least they get out and hunt and hike into the back country.

Wildsage

Worst has to be the Best of the West, pot shot's.
Followed by anything with Wadell or hipster doofus wanna be Chris Brackett.

+ 1 on Luckiest of the west, and any
other long range video!

I was sick when I sat with my 2 boys
in there hunter ed class and the second
night the instructor showed there video!

The worst is Hooked on Utah. If you looked up Utard in the dictionary his face would be right there.

"Hey guys, Today we're fishing for bass and I'm useing my Shimano rod and reel with my Trilene fishing line and my Rapala lure while I wear my Smith sunglasses and my Columbia shirt, and Exifficio shorts and Nike shoes. I got this great solar charger made by so & so that charges my Motorola cell phone and my Garmin GPS that I all got at Sportsmens Wearhouse. So let's get in my Skeeter bass boat and take off across the lake useing the Mercury outboard then we'll troll around with the Minn Kota trolling motor all the while looking at the Lewrance GPS and also watching my Hummingbird fish finder."

BEST
1. Shockey
2. Eastmans, as long as Mike Eastman doesn't appear.
3. OYOA
4. Nosler

WORST
1. Western Extreme with Jim Burnworth. His fist pumping celebrations and his big ego make me ill.
2. Colorado Buck
3. Jackie Bushman
4. Life at Table Mountain
5. All of the long range shooting shows.
6. All elk hunting shows at Deer Valley Ranch.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-02-11 AT 11:54PM (MST)[p]You gotta love when Burnworth shoots an elk and starts to brag, this is my 59th raghorn I've killed. I forgot about him. He and Colorado Buck should be banished from TV forever...

LAST EDITED ON Jun-03-11 AT 07:35AM (MST)[p]any of you watch "Gunning with Benny Spies", I like his stuff.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

What about Jimmy Big Time. Now that fat boy makes me laugh.
If I hear Burnworth say "Huge Kudu Bull" one more time I just
might loose it.
I'm from the south but those stupid redneck shows get turned
off quick.
I really like Tom Miranda and Jim Shockey.

Worst: Quest for the One. Urseth's comments are so consistently annoying they could have been used to make al-Queda give up Bin Ladens hideout years ago. The show is so consistenly horrible, it seems like a SNL skit on hunting.

I was watching one of those long range hunting shows. It might of been "Best of the West". They were hunting mule deer in the plains of CO. They had a freaking guide seek in a couple hunderd yards closer to the buck, and then sign back the yardage. As the guy shot from Mars.

ELKMAN - I saw that same show, I think it was western extremes. I couldn't believe they had a guide sneak within 400 yards of the buck so he could get an accurate range, and then they could range the guide and add the two up to get the yardage to the buck...

You can't beat Shockey's the Professionals. His son's editing and production in that show are stepping up the ante for hunting shows.

Funny story about Tred Barta, about 4 years ago at the SHOT show he was walking by my booth. I had a video playing of a 400" az bull that my business partner killed. Tred stopped and said "look at the size of that deer!" his guide buddy (dude with the beard he always hunts with) looked at him and said "Thats a F#@kin elk you idiot...and a huge one at that!" then he shook his head and walked off leaving Tred behind.

Worst: any time someone is sitting in a blind or tree stand...

Best: anytime they are stalking in the high country :)

Bowhunting

Follow my blog at: nvbowhunting.blogspot.com

LAST EDITED ON Jun-07-11 AT 04:33PM (MST)[p]Tred is a little different, but in a good way and is no Fn moron! A lot of people refer to elk as deer FYI and because of the size of that bull it probably just came out that way in his excitement when he saw it. It's amazing how he has come back from his disability with that positive attitude for life that he has always had. He is an honest, passionate guy who preaches a lot of good things about ethical hunting and you can't take that away from him whether you like him or not.

Best= Eichler... Eastmans... Predator Quest...The crush w/ Tiffany

Worst= That ginger a$$ from "Hooked on Utard", Colorado Buck, Steve Worst/west outdoors.
Hooked on road hunting in utah is hands down the biggest waste of all time.

yhe hes no moron at all, first show of his I ever watched he almost drowned himself, his buddy and his son out deep see fishing because he wouldnt head in when the boat started taking on water, thats just the tip of the iceberg the guys a jackass

Worst- Long Range Shows, and Mossback (glad he is done)

Worster- Lee and tiffany goofing off all the time, killing farm raised deer.

Worstest- Nugent, Any shows that hunt african animals in Texas.

Best- Predator Quest

Better- Cameron Hanes Back Country Bowhunting.

Bestest- Shockey. Home footage from my families hunts in the past. (better to do it than to watch it)

LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-11 AT 02:49PM (MST)[p]I mostly agree. I'm tired fat, inbred, southerners saying the hunted hard all day in the stand.

Anyway, the best commercial: I saw last night late. Fred Eichler, "The most interesting bowhunter in the world". "Bull elk gather to watch him rut"!!!! hehe!

Here's a link http://hunttv.com/media.

i like mojo outdoors but that the only decent hunting show on pursuit Chanel. i don have the other hunting Channels tho

"Better to dwell in the wilderness, Then with a contentious and angry women Proverbs 21:19)

Maybe not the worst for me but i don't care for the ones where the so called "whitetail Experts" come "out West" and hunt canned hunts for Muleys. So expected and so boring! Then while posing with their dink "trophy" they'll proudly tell us all how to do it! lame x10!

Maybe not popular but i don't see the attraction in Eicklers(sp) programs. Yeah, he's personable as all get out and the guy kills lots of stuff with his bow and no doubt is a great archery hunter, shot,...but he shoots the first darn thing that he sees. I dunno, hunting seems about more than just killing stuff and i keep hoping that someday he'll hold off a bit and wait on a dandy.

On Your Own Adventures, Nice!

I used to like Colorado Buck's show before the DreamCatcher.

Shooting in blinds over water troughs in Africa, boring!

Tiffany is one hot babe!!

Turkey shows, the worst!

I think Shockey is still my Favorite.

I'd rather watch any hunting or fishing show than at least 90% of what ever else is on TV.

Joey

Joey---On this we can definitely agree: "Tiffany is one hot babe!!" I've never watched that Colorado Buck guy, as the first time I saw him I thought he looked like a dufus and I turned the channel. I am the opposite on one thing guys are posting in that I like to watch longbeards come to a call just like bugling bulls in the rut!!!

>Anyway, the best commercial: I saw
>last night late. Fred Eichler,
>"The most interesting bowhunter in
>the world". "Bull elk
>gather to watch him rut"!!!!
>hehe!

He's also got 9 frames of Bigfoot footage!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watched a "Long Range Pursuit" show with the Davidson brothers where they shoot a bull elk at 925 yards and then say they couldn't get any closer. That kind of stuff is pure BS because there was a good ridge between them and the animal and they could easily have cut the distance by more than half by just walking and not even having to be stealthy about it until hitting the top of the closer ridge. That, to me is absolutely ridiculous to call that hunting! I wonder how many more long range systems they will sell to people that will go out with little or no practice because they figure it's so easy when they see that ##### every week on TV!!!

Holy crap, the only one worth watching is JIMMY BIG TIME. what a stud!!! and an AWESOME hunter!! I am a comedy man, and that show does it for me too elk hunter!!

+1 for Tom Massie and the Gold Fever show. I'm not much of a Gold hunter but i really like Tom's show. He's always off to some underground mine, ghost town, or Alaskian creek camp,... with his wife and a daughter or two. The guy is funny and always seems to have a great time living life. The Buzzard, Outdoor channel founder as well as his past on father, and his Brother, Perry, are OK but Tom puts on a great show well worth watching.

Joey

The worst is when you have some yoyo in a treestand and shots a whitetail then starts laughing like crazy, have some respect for the animal that was just harvested.

I like Eastmans and On your own but havent seen On your own on the outdoor channel lately.

>What happened to Powderhorn Montana?
>That was one of my
>favorites.

I liked that one too.
I hope they come back.

Hey man, Thanks for the mention! A bad review is always better that no review. By the way, haven't been on Gone Huntin' for 3 years. My new show is "The Road Less Traveled." Feel free to trash it too. God bless, Tony Nafe

LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-11 AT 05:51PM (MST)[p]Nice of you to stop by to trash talk and plug your new show, dont you want to throw out some sponsor and high fence "outfitter" names before you get off the box?God bless!

I always found Gold Fever and Tom Massie very entertaining and informative. My favorite shows were the small mining camps that Massie visited. Great stuff.

Eldorado

In accordance with the owner of this thread I will list my 3 worst and 3 best, and I may ad a bit to that if that's ok.

Best: ....'On your own adventures' miles ahead of the others
....'Shockey's show'
....'Duck Commander''

Worst.....'Quest for the one' shameful waste of TV time
.....'I have forgotten the name of it'...bunch of yankees trying to make a hunting show
.....'Wayne Pearson's show'

I agree that Burnworth is an full of himself no doubt. So many of these people are so pitifully inept at using a firearm that they make me ashamed FOR them. Oh, have any of you seen any of the shows that are using 'canned' gunfire sounds now.....I saw one of the duck hunting show that had it on it....what a shame. Eastmans does a good show,...but poor Mike isn't cut out fot TV, but neither am I for that matter. Tony.....don't know about your show yet, haven't seen it....hope it's a good one though. Oh yea.....Expedition Safari is another shameful waste of TV time....poor guy I think he's Mike Rogers is just waaaaay too dramatic.

WOW. Wasn't trash talking, actually I don't take myself too seriously either. I'm just a guy that loves to hunt and is blessed to be able to do a lot of it. I have never held myself up to be any kind of professional hunter and if you have watched my show you know that. I thought it was kinda of funny that I was listed as one the original posters worst 3 shows and Tim Wells was listed as one of his best 3. Tim and I are good friends and I sent him an email with the link because I knew he get a kick out of it and probably give me a little grief about it.

Yeah, I've hunted in high fences, as have most outdoor show hosts, obviously you have a problem with that. But 80% of my shows have been outside of fenced operations. As far as sponsors go, every show has got them or they wouldn't be on the air.

Oh and by the way, I'm not ashamed of my Christian Faith, I sign everything God bless, and I mean it when I say it. I won't be posting here any further, Sorry if I have offended you in any way.

God bless, Tony Nafe

This is some humorous stuff guys LOl But very true to the point.
My favorites are: Jim Shockey/The professionals. Jim's shows are never the same and he hunts some places that I can only day dream about. Oh and don't forget to join SCI? haha

Easton Bowhunting w/ Fred E.- Guys just fun to watch and love the passion and he excitement he gets out of hunting, even when its a fork horn buck.

Duck Commander- The guys are something else and entertaining as hell, wish I could handle a shotgun like the Robertson boys.

Relentless Pursuit- Tim Wells is the man! Leaves me in awe with his abilities as an archer and pretty funny too.

On your Own Adventures: Good to see someone produce a show that shows the public what hunting really is for the common person.

Worst

Western Extremes: JIm Burnwerth or however you spell it.. stick to the muscle cars, youve created the over the head bow pump as unattractive as Jersey shore has made the "fist pumping like champs" phrase.

Spirt of the Wild : Ted Nugent, the government is not out to rape us of our firearms and hunting as badly as you portray. Im not sure what is entertaining about watching a dude and his barbie doll wife shoot 100 deer a season out of a tree stand and babble on about it.

Steve West: Not much of hunter.. Laugh every time I see your shows when you come up to my neck of the woods and shoot raghorn bulls off RFW and call them 'big bulls' along with you playing your cow call like a harmonica when you attempt to guide someone.

Jim Zumbo: Guy can BS a book and cook but thats about it IMO. I think a show on food network might fit him better.
Coloradoboy

LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-11 AT 10:27PM (MST)[p]When I first started watching the shows, I generally enjoyed all of them if they weren't turkey hunts or bass fishing. After 5 years, not so much. As most have said, a lot, lot more I can't stand than the ones I enjoy.

Shockey is the only one I really enjoy, week in and week out, more if he's in North America than if he's somewhere exotic.

Some Eastman shows are okay but only if Mike doesn't refer to the quakies as the "quakers".

I agree on the North to Alaska with Czonka show, seems natural, like a normal guy with money filming what he loves to do without all the BS.

I used to like Primos but the younger generation aren't as watchable as the two originators.

I like Nugent's politics, don't like his over the edge shows. Seems insincere after the fire hose volume of the virtues of the lifestyle. Think he could do better.

The gentleman that owns Christensen's Arms is a super guy but he has employed too many course natured folks to run the business and the show. Good hunts but really hard to watch.

Tiffany is a stunner and Lee seems like a good guy, great whitetails, shows what you can do with whitetail management but I've tired of the mix. Just hunt, leave the rest in the motel. Haven't watched in months.

Bone Collector, Michael may be a good shot with a bow but if I wanted music I'd watch CMT. Will not watch anymore.

Stan Potts, seems insincere or far too unnatural for a guy that's killed as much as he has. Nope.

Most disliked: Western Extreme. Just plain nasty. Great hunts but just cannot bring myself to watch the host.

I dislike 95%, like 5%. To bad too because there sure as hell isn't anything else on the tube worth watching. Most of the time it's noise in the room. Think I'll go look for elk or try a little Mack fishing this week.

I am a little surprised at how consistent the opinions are on this subject. I guess we all more alike than our banter would indicate.

High fence inst hunting and you obviously havnt figured that out.Your damn right I have a problem with it,its bad for the future of our sport and gives our pastime a black eye.The shows I like contain NO high fence hunting nor would they consider it,you know why?Because they are more concerned about the HUNTING on their show and portraying the sport in its true form than making sure they get a canned hunt on tape for their sponsors.Take your religious jabs and cram em up ur ass, adding "GodBless" to the end of a post like yours isnt something a Christian would do,get over yourself. This thread is about hunting shows we cant stand, its friggen great that one of the top guys on the list showed up here to take a dump and then run away like a punk.We dont like your canned hunt "hunting" show and now Im sure I dont like you."God Bless"

Said, I wouldn't reply, but I must. I'm not running away, I just felt it better not to expand the controversy. I must say that being accused of running away like a punk doesn't carry much coming from someone who hides his identity behind a profile name and doesn't have the courage to stand behind his position. You can be crude in your postings and insult my religion as I am sure you will do when you read this post. But no matter what you say to me or about me, I will pray for you.

As always, God bless,
Tony Nafe

I AGREE ABOUT WESTERN EXTREME & JIM BURNWERTH (SP)......IF I WON A HUNT WITH JIM I WOULD TRY TO SWITCH & HUNT WITH RAY OR A DIFF. FELLA. IF NOT.....I WOULD PASS ON THE HUNT......YD.

Not really a hunting show but my favorite show right now is Mounted in Alaska on the History channel. Seems to me my favorite hunting shows change with the seasons. Just got back from Africa and couldnt get enough of any show that was on safari. I did want to strangle that kid on Young Blood though! Turkey season I watch turkey shows and now with Muley season on the horizon I will switch gears towards that direction.

Once in a Blue Moon Eastman or Shockey will do something worth watching. 99.9% of it is an insult to your intelligence and has little "hunting" content.

Basically it's garbage like most everything else on TV today.

WTF would you do with my real name?Pm me and Ill give it to you if it makes you feel better about meeting someone (or many people) that think your show SUX(its an internet forum people normally dont use their real names online).Im sure you are used to people kissing your ass and trying to get on your show but guess what you arnt going to hear from the rest of us unless you go looking for it.You did,you found us and you cant handle it,too fn bad for you.I didnt insult your religion Jackass,I insulted you.Im a born again Christian but I dont feel the need to advertise it.Keep working that religion card though Im sure it has got you far, right to the top of the most hated hunting show hosts on MM!I USED to be pretty good friends with Nugent,I was his "backstrap bloodbrother from the BigSky" until I told him what I thought about high fence hunting, hes just like you, says hes for hunters but doesnt have a clue what hunting really is and doesnt give a damn about the damage canned hunting does to the hunting public image,he couldnt handle the fact that I wouldnt kiss his ass and never disagree, after that we havnt talked.Dont you have some domesticated exotics to shoot out of a blind over a feeder somewhere?Insult my courage,VERY Christian of you!"God Bless"

Id like to add one more show to the SH!t list

I don't know why you are so angry at me. You don't like my show, fine. I can handle it. But you don't have to be vicious. You can make your point without profanity and insults. You act like you know me, you don't.

I don't think I'm any better or even as good as most folks. You say you're a born again Christian, I'm glad you are. That is the one thing I fervently hope for.

Yeah, I "work that religion card", and here's why. I have been a Christian for most of my adult life, but not a very good one. Last year after several months of severe stomach pains, doctors found a tumor in my abdomen and removed 3 feet of small intestine and 24 lymph nodes, 13 of which tested positve. I visit my oncologist once a month for chemo, and will for the rest of my life, however long God sees fit for that to be.

I realized that I hadn't shared the Gospel as I should have, and I decided that I would spend whatever time I had left spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in any small way that I can. That's why the "Road Less Traveled" is a Christian themed Show.

That's my motivation, pure and simple. If you have a problem with that, that's ok. I'm done.

God bless,
Tony Nafe

For real this time? You must think bringing religion into a high fence hunting show makes it more appealing?Makes it even more retarded in my book.Stick to what you know there are plenty of people out there that will tune it to watch you shoot anything behind a fence, throw religion in and you maygain a few more!Hate to brake it to you though there are many Christians that are anti hunters.Sorry to hear about your health(lost my father to a similar cancer) but I have no respect for the people producing "hunting" shows that make the sport look bad,its bad for the futurte of the sport and its not impossible to film shows without doing high fence, its just more work.the antis are fueled by these damned shows and if you are producing them you are fueling their movement,THANX!

I've watched um all. I didn't get cable-type programs until about 4 years ago so I started a little later than most of you guys.

Some are still OK but most are just boring commercials from start to finish. I don't blame them for all the selling pitches on their show, they probably need to do it. I just have gotten tired of it all.

I find a few minutes, every hour or so, on MM site is a ton more entertaining. I see some real passion... albeit misdirected at times. I appreciate all the opinions even when you're wrong! LOL

I looked last night at the recorded shows on my DVR. None are hunting. I'm about tired of them all.

I can't wait for the snow to melt a bit more. I'm headed to the high country to enjoy the outdoors for myself rather than watching it from my couch!
