Don’t forget your Fanny pack and your AC/DC cassette tapeI often use paper maps when learning a new area and scouting. They are nice to write comments on rather than having to deal with a 2" x 4" iphone screen....or even smaller gps screen! There are lots of x's and scribbling on my paper maps! They are gold when I return home. Another item I don't leave home without is an old school camcorder. They are fantastic for filming country and field judging critters on the big screen when I return home.
Old school isn't always bad!
I looking to pick up a paper map for a WY Elk Unit. I used to use Hunting GPS but I cant seem to find them.
There’s not enough paper in this world to make a map to keep you from being lost. Paul 4:20I'm in bed now but PM me and I'll get you all the information tomorrow to contact USGS , older 1/24000 (7.5 min) maps are $8 and newer ones are $15. I enjoy spending evenings laying several maps out and getting the big picture. Sorry SS , can't do that on my onX phone app. I've got hundreds of paper maps acquired over the years.
This!!! I've ordered all of my game management unit maps for various states from Mytopo.com. It's a great resource and I like reading paper maps in the field as my eyes ain't what they used to be. Trying to read an iPhone screen or hand-held GPS is harder the older you get. Yes, I'm old school and a land surveyor so old habits are hard to break. Good comments too, Jims!!!GMU Hunting Unit Maps
MyTopo hunt area maps provide the Western US public land hunter with 1:100,000 Bureau of Land Management (BLM) base maps with Game Management Unit (GMU) boundaries as an overlay and each unit centered on its own pre-made map.mapstore.mytopo.com
I have all the maps downloaded on my cellphone- clearly best approach while on the ground. Also have apple carplay while driving. But...As soon as I finish my time machine I’ll go back 10 years ago and get you a paper copy.
If you need it sooner just google it and click print.
careful or I’ll unplug your life support old manI have my doubts the current generation could survive without their phones & life alerts. According to google they have been carbon neutral since before it was cool.... they tell you every time you click on their page

I’ll pray for your forgiveness ?Its you SS that have issues sir, can't stop attacking me for my Faith. Fyi , I'll NEVER back down as my life was drastically changed in 1997 when the light came on that , even though I was raised in a good home,( not a Christian home) with parents teaching me good manners etc. I could never in my own self righteousness enter into the presence of a Holy/ Sinless God.....only happens when Jesus covered my sin . No need for a sarcastic reply.
Early 2000’s hard copy’s where 10.50$…. At BLM and forest service office. You can probably talk to the local office of the land management organization that would cover most of the area (BLM or Forest Service) ask them if they could make you a map. Usually are about $20 and you can have them layer the GIS for Fences, water, roads, surface ownership, topo, their water upgrade projects...…….
You sold me, I'm gonna get me some onX, a flatty, a Mtn.Ops subscription and some Black Rifle Tactisquatch roast for my pour over...first thing tomorrow morning. 1) I use recycled paper. (1 carbon offset credit)
2) My diesel truck has that ridiculous DEF system. (3 carbon offset credits)
3) The paper maps make me much more efficient scouting new units (1000's of carbon offset credits).
I tried selling those bad boys back to John Kerry- but contacting him is difficult as he jets around in a private jet while lecturing me on not using paper maps
Looks like a fire hazard with all those combustibles on the wall. Don’t fall asleep smoking a cigar in that recliner boomer…
Oh, I got to get one of those of Mt Dutton. Thanks for the decorating idea.My Hunt Office is lined with oversized Maps.
I too like to get a bigger/broader view when planning a hunt.
Then I save Off Grid on my phone/OnxMaps.

I’ll pray for your forgiveness ?
??????????Obvious question is, who do you pray to ? Answer is, there is Only One who holds the world in His hands . I'll be praying He moves mighty in your life SS. I am forgiven already fyi.
I have one of these I got for a previous hunt. They are OK. One thing I do like about them is that they are smaller.Take a look at these. Used these before onx. Worked great and waterproof. My only complaint is small drainges were not labled compared to onx. Maybe their new ones are more updated
