Wyoming elk - future

Well I bought the elk & deer points for my two older sons and myself today. I sometimes wonder what I'm doing spending the money for these points. We just returned from a successful pronghorn hunt in unit 67, good times!
Now the question: Is it possible to get my guys into bull elk in wyoming with out horses? without drawing one of the hard to draw limited entry areas like unit 100 or 31? What are your opinions?

Residents do it every year. I use a deer cart and back packs. Bone out your meat but be sure you get all the meat offyou can, and always leave sign of sex attached to hind quarters if the unit is not either sex at the time.

congrats on your lope hunt,

get'n on elk with out horse's is doable,but they sure are worth there weight in gold if you kill one.i don't go any were with out my packstring.

what part of the state you want'n to hunt???

I am some what familiar with the Dubois/East Fork of the Wind area, but am open to suggestions.
